Freight (Vracht) Manager

• Co-developing and executing the freight strategy;

• Maintaining and further expanding relationships with carriers and logistics service providers;

• Negotiating, evaluating, and concluding global freight contracts;

• Ensuring the cost-efficient procurement of global freight;

• Analyzing market information and advising on opportunities, risks, and price developments;

• Identifying market developments and translating these into commercial opportunities and strategic choices;

• Contributing ideas to the optimization of processes, systems, and supplier management;

• Collaborating intensively with the various departments within Royal Ingredients Group.

As Freight Manager, together with colleagues from the Freight department, you are responsible for helping to determine the global freight strategy. You are an important sparring partner for various departments and ensure that our global freight is procured efficiently, commercially, and cost-effectively.

You follow market developments closely, maintain relationships with logistics partners, and translate opportunities and developments into concrete commercial and operational actions. Additionally, you contribute ideas toward the continuous improvement of processes.

• Minimum HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level;

• Extensive experience within freight and transport;

• Demonstrable experience with negotiating freight rates and supplier management;

• Strong knowledge of the international freight market and logistics sector;

• Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages;

• Knowledge of the German language is a plus, or a willingness to learn;

• Strong analytical and commercial skills;

• You are entrepreneurial, decisive, proactive, and know how to bring people along during changes.
