Graduation Internship Tunnel Bedding

Do you want to apply your academic knowledge to complex civil engineering problems and contribute to innovative tunnel designs? At Boskalis, you will get the opportunity during your internship to conduct research into the modeling and structural design of tunnel beddings.

During this graduation internship, you will work together with experienced specialists on a technically challenging topic that is directly applicable in practice. You will make a valuable contribution to optimizing design processes in the early project phases.

The graduation research focuses on:

• The modeling of tunnel beddings with different segments founded on piles
• Analysis of overlying and intersecting tunnels, including long tunnels with coupled segments
• Translating model results into a practical and applicable reinforcement concept
• Developing a clear and robust approach that leads to:
  • Faster design processes
  • Less uncertainty in the initial design phases

In this role, you will work closely with engineers and geotechnical specialists and will be given the space to conduct independent research.

• You are pursuing a university-level (WO) degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering and are about to graduate
• You have an interest in tunnel construction, geotechnics, and structural modeling
• You are analytically strong and work in a structured manner
• You can work independently, but also actively seek collaboration
