The role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineering student to strengthen our team. In this research internship, you will get the chance to work on innovative and relevant research within the structural engineering field. In this research, you will focus on the feasibility of an alternative method for immersing a tunnel, where you will investigate structural and execution details, costs, and geotechnical aspects.
Affinity with and interest in concrete structures (immersed tunnels) and geotechnics are important requirements. Within the research, we encourage you to follow your own preferences and interests and actively share them with the team. You will be guided by experts in the field who have immersed many a tunnel themselves.
Our structural department works from Utrecht and Gorinchem. We are currently involved in exciting projects such as the widening of the A27 and have just finished immersing ten tunnel elements abroad (in the video at the bottom of this vacancy, colleague Lisa tells you about this).
Ready to make your mark on the future of tunnel construction? We are eager to shape this research together with you. Step inside, discover your possibilities, and grow with us. See you soon!
