The role

Will you also become a Tax Advisory Working Student at Baker Tilly? Read below to see if it's a fit for you!

You work on an advisory memo for a large international company. But which rules apply? You dive into the sources, prepare a calculation, and put your findings on paper. After that, you discuss them with an experienced colleague. They will ask follow-up questions, look things over with you, and help you sharpen your preparation. This way, what you learn during your studies immediately gains meaning.

Based in Den Bosch, you support the team that handles international tax matters in the Southeast region. You will get to know International and Corporate Tax through real files, in which you delve into corporate income tax and withholding taxes. For example, from a large foreign organization with a branch in the Netherlands. In a subsequent file, the focus might be on a family moving to the Netherlands. What does that immigration mean for their tax situation? You discover how laws affect companies and people.

Your preparation helps colleagues move forward with a tax return or advice. You research regulations, carry out analyses, and contribute to memos. In doing so, you take responsibility for your own work, but you do not have to find the answer alone. Do you get stuck somewhere or see something that deserves attention? Then you discuss it with your manager. It is precisely those conversations that help you to better understand the profession.

Requirements

You want to know how a tax rule affects the client. You research carefully, dare to ask follow-up questions, and use feedback to make your work sharper.

  • You have completed your bachelor's degree and are in the final phase of your master's degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics

  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages to understand tax sources and to express your findings clearly

  • You want to grow into a tax consultant role after your master's

  • You work accurately, so that colleagues can build on your preparation

  • Experience within the field is a plus, for example through an internship or as a working student
