As all-round international tax specialists our team of tax counsels are directly involved (and relied on) in materializing business opportunities and business operations of the company. It is a dynamic and demanding job, but very satisfying when we share the success as a project is awarded. Together with our Taxation department team members we add value to the full core business cycle, from commercial tender to project execution and post project tax management.

Together with other Tax Counsels you will work closely with Legal and Procurement and it will be your job to:

• Understand project execution its uncertainties, commercial drivers, and business challenges;
• Identify tax requirements and obligations in relevant jurisdictions;
• Translate business and tax insights into practical, competitive, and technically robust tender submissions;
• Clearly communicate project tax requirements and engage the relevant team members and stakeholders from Commercial, Project Management;
• Review client and subcontractor contracts and prepare qualifications for negotiations, ensuring consistency across contractual arrangements while adapting terms, where appropriate, to the relevant scope of work;
• Support the implementation of tax obligations taking operational dynamics into account and safeguard HMC from pitfalls;
• Prepare clear, fit-for-purpose technical memos and communications, tailored to the intended audience and purpose.

• You have a Master's degree in tax law, tax economics or a suitable equivalent;
• You have experience in an international tax environment with a solid understanding of international tax concepts;
• You have strong analytical problem-solving skills;
• You have a down to earth personality with hands-on mentality and constructive attitude;
• You are ambitious to deliver and ensure quality of work;You have strong written and verbal communications skills in English; along with the ability to communicate effectively with other team members and different stakeholders;

You will work closely with the Legal, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance teams. Together, you will ensure that Heerema's international projects are structured and executed with full tax compliance and efficiency, while continuously identifying opportunities to optimize our global tax position.
