Functional Datawarehouse tester

• HBO/WO working and thinking level, preferably in IT, Informatics, Data Science, or a similar field, and experience with functional testing within a complex data or IT environment.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and experience with complex queries, including joins, subqueries, and window functions, to be able to thoroughly analyze data quality and data transformations.
• Extensive knowledge of data warehouse concepts, such as Kimball, star, and snowflake schemas, and experience with ETL/ELT processes and testing data flows from source to reporting.

• Demonstrable experience with testing methodologies such as TMap or ISTQB and preferably experience with Agile/Scrum. Additionally, you have experience with or a strong interest in test automation and tools such as Robot Framework, Python, or dbt.
• Knowledge of the banking sector and experience with financial reporting is a plus.

This position falls into scale 10, with a gross monthly salary between € 5,179.72 and € 6,906.29 (based on 36 hours per week).

About us

Are you the critical, proactive IT professional who spots errors in complex data flows in a structured manner? Are you driven to continuously improve the test framework and data processes? As a Functional Datawarehouse Tester, you ensure that data is processed correctly, completely, and reliably within our complex data warehouse environment. You investigate data flows from source to reporting, develop smart testing solutions, and work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and other data professionals. In this way, you contribute directly to the quality of the figures and reports that ASN Bank and external regulators rely on.

• You translate business requirements into test plans and test cases for datamarts and ETL processes and determine which controls are necessary to make data quality demonstrable.
• You validate complex data flows with SQL and check source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and data integrity. This allows you to discover discrepancies and errors before they impact reporting.
• You develop, maintain, and improve automated regression tests using, for example, Robot Framework, Python, or dbt, thereby contributing to a more efficient and future-proof testing process.
• You signal data anomalies and bugs, record findings clearly in Jira, and work together with developers and analysts on structural solutions and the continuous improvement of data quality.
• You test the entire data chain, from source system to BI reporting, and check whether dashboards in, for example, Power BI or Tableau align with the underlying source data.
