Do you want to contribute to the next step in the treatment of melanoma with immunotherapy and simultaneously pursue a PhD within an internationally leading research group? We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious junior doctor with an interest in immunotherapy, translational research, and the treatment of melanoma. Does this sound like your new challenge? Then we would love to meet you!
As a physician-researcher, you will work at the heart of these developments. You will be closely involved in both the development and execution of clinical studies as well as translational research. You will collaborate with physicians, researchers, pathologists, immunologists, bioinformaticians, and other scientists, and you will have the opportunity to conduct research within a strong international network.
Within the clinical Division of Medical Oncological Disciplines (MOD) and the research division of Molecular Oncology & Immunology, we work on the development of new strategies using neoadjuvant immunotherapy for patients with solid tumors. In close collaboration with national and international partners, Prof. Christian Blank's research group has conducted a large randomized clinical trial on neoadjuvant combination treatment with checkpoint inhibitors in patients with melanoma (NADINA trial). Based on the results of this study, new studies have since been started (e.g., ALETTA trial). In these, we investigate personalized treatment strategies, particularly for patients who are less likely to respond well to current immunotherapy.
At the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, we all commit to the same goal: the best care for every patient and every type of cancer. That is no small feat. But not impossible. Here, science and care work together on innovation. Time and again, we find new ways that help people with cancer worldwide. Here we save lives, we win time and quality.
Does the combination of patient care, immunology, and innovative clinical research excite you? Then we would love to meet you. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven candidate who:
Is a junior doctor and is enthusiastic about translational oncological research and immunotherapy;
Is creative, energetic, and curious, and enjoys exploring new scientific questions;
Preferably has clinical experience as an ANIOS (resident/junior doctor) and experience with statistical analyses;
Can work well both independently and in a team and enjoys being part of a multidisciplinary and international team;
Possesses excellent social and communication skills;
Has a good command of both the Dutch and English languages, both orally and in writing.
We are curious about your talent. Will you make the difference in the world of cancer? Apply quickly via the application button!
