Pay & benefits

What you'll get

In addition to good employment conditions (13th month, 8.33% holiday allowance, training opportunities), you will drive a company car, receive a laptop and iPad from us, and of course a phone. We also give you an enormously motivated team of great colleagues with a good working environment and similar development opportunities.

The role

Abbott Diabetes Care focuses on developing and delivering glucose monitoring systems that improve the quality of life for people with diabetes. For several years, Abbott Diabetes Care has had a groundbreaking and innovative product on the Dutch market, the Freestyle Libre (FSL), which provides a great deal of dynamism.

For our sales team, we are looking for a Field Education Specialist (FES) South Netherlands!

What you'll do

  • Regarding your most important accounts in primary and secondary care, you are aware of the critical projects currently running and the sales strategies underlying them.

  • In collaboration with sales colleagues, the National Sales Manager, and the Marketing team, you will create a plan for the rollout of education activities.

  • You work closely with the sales team to review projects, strengthen relationships at the accounts, and take the use of the FSL, linked digital applications, and other services to the next level. You use the insights obtained to further develop and expand our educational offering.

  • You give presentations and training on the possibilities and use to treatment teams and people with diabetes. This is both one-on-one and in group settings.

  • You analyze current applications/services to gain insight into effectiveness and ease of use. You make suggestions to implement improvements.

  • You communicate effectively with those responsible for diabetes care.

Where will you work?

As a Field Education Specialist, you will work in the sales team in the South Netherlands (North Brabant/ Limburg). Together with your fellow FES colleagues, you will be active in the field. You will work closely with our Key Account Managers (KAMs) and their managers, who are responsible for both primary and secondary care. This means hospitals and GP practices/care groups. The National Sales Manager manages the sales team. The team focuses on the sale and service of our Abbott Diabetes Care products, which are aimed at glucose monitoring.

What will you do as a Field Education Specialist?

As an FES, you are co-responsible for the education component regarding the use of the FSL. This also includes the linked digital platform LibreView and the associated service. Our users (people with diabetes and their doctors/nurses/practice assistants) work with both the FSL and the various components of our digital system. Increasing awareness of and support for these applications is part of your area of responsibility. Together with colleagues, you will map out the most important needs of a customer and provide them with perfect service and guidance.

All this with 'education' as your primary tool. This varies from giving introductory training or '2.0 user training' for truly experienced users to individual support for professionals towards fully utilizing our product and service benefits. Your primary focus as an FES lies with our target group of internists, (pediatric) diabetes nurses, practice assistants, and people with diabetes. Through your role, you contribute significantly to optimizing care and improving the quality of life for the users of our products and services.

We anticipate two or three rounds of interviews. We may also ask for references and, upon starting the position, we will ask for a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag).
