Making an impact together with confidence. That is working at Vion.
Vion stands in the middle of the food chain. This means that we deal with different worlds and interests on a daily basis: from farmers and suppliers to customers, consumers, employees, governments, and other stakeholders. As a Communication Specialist, you help to connect those worlds.
Based in Boxtel, you will work in the Group Communication team of three colleagues to strengthen our corporate identity, reputation, and internal engagement. You translate Vion's mission, strategy, and priorities into clear communication for various internal and external target groups. You make complex subjects understandable without losing the nuance.
Your work is visible and versatile. One moment you are advising on a current communication issue, the next you are developing content, coordinating a project, or organizing a meeting. Developments in the food and agribusiness sector can move quickly. Therefore, you are given the space and the trust to set priorities, make independent choices, and adapt your approach when necessary.
You combine communication advice, content creation, and coordination. In doing so, you work closely with colleagues from the business, the communication team, and external agencies.
You advise colleagues on internal and external communication issues and help to choose the right message, approach, and tools.
You collect, develop, edit, and publish content for, among others, the internal app, management newsletter, LinkedIn, and the corporate website.
You maintain and optimize communication channels and continuously look at how content can better align with different target groups.
You translate briefings, strategy, and substantive input into clear communication plans and ensure that these are also implemented.
You represent Group Communication in projects and bring the communication perspective, the target group, and reputation interests to them.
You play a central role in the creation of the annual CSR report and coordinate content and design with internal departments and external agencies for this purpose.
You write and edit various communication expressions, including web content, newsletters, social media posts, and press releases.
You coordinate activities with external communication, design, and PR agencies.
Together with the team, you organize internal and external meetings, such as management meetings, press conferences, and other events.
You monitor the quality and recognizability of communication expressions and ensure that they align with the corporate identity, mission, values, and culture of Vion.
You are a communication specialist who is curious about what is happening both within and outside Vion. You understand different interests, form a well-founded opinion, and know how to reduce complex or sensitive topics to communication that is clear and credible. You maintain an overview, set priorities, and move quickly from idea to a concrete approach.
A completed HBO or WO degree in communication or a similar field.
At least five years of work experience in a similar communication role.
Strong writing and editing skills for different target groups and channels.
Experience in drafting and implementing communication plans.
The ability to organize multiple projects and current issues simultaneously and to set clear priorities within them.
An independent way of working: you take responsibility, actively seek collaboration, and know when to involve others.
A critical and curious eye for communication, organization, and societal developments.
Affinity with food, agriculture, and agribusiness and interest in themes such as sustainability, reputation, and the food chain.
Experience with project management is a clear advantage.
Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
Availability for 32 to 40 hours per week.
At Vion, you receive the trust to visibly deploy your communication expertise. You work in a compact team, but on an international playing field with topics that matter. Here, you get space to advance ideas, take responsibility, and develop yourself.
A position for 32 to 40 hours per week.
A salary appropriate to your knowledge and experience; the salary range will be added to the vacancy later.
Hybrid working is possible, in coordination with the team.
Plenty of space to independently take on communication issues and projects.
The opportunity to visibly contribute to the reputation, internal engagement, sustainability, and the brand of Vion.
Collaboration with colleagues from different disciplines and countries.
Space to further develop within communication and within an international organization.
A down-to-earth and professional working environment with short lines, accessible management, and involved colleagues.
At Vion, we work every day on a food chain that is reliable and future-oriented. This requires colleagues who take responsibility, bring different perspectives together, and actually realize improvements.
You receive trust here to make independent choices and deploy your expertise. At the same time, you work closely with colleagues within Group Communication and with teams from across the entire organization. The international scale gives your work reach and impact, while the lines remain short.
There is room to take initiative, to learn from others, and to further develop yourself. Especially in communication, you notice how broad Vion is: your work touches colleagues, customers, chain partners, and societal stakeholders and helps to make clear what Vion stands for.
Do you see yourself in this role and do you want to contribute to a strong reputation and clear connection with our stakeholders through communication? Then apply via the application button with your CV and motivation. If you would first like to know more about the position, we would love to hear from you.
