Making an impact together with confidence. That is working at Vion.
As Technical Application Manager MES, you ensure that a business-critical component of our production continues to run technically. Our production sites operate almost continuously, and the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) connects processes, systems, and data on the shop floor. If something falters there, your work is immediately noticeable in the operation.
You are the technical specialist behind the MES landscape. You monitor availability and performance, dive into databases, interfaces, and logging, and ensure that patches, releases, and changes are executed in a controlled manner. You create technical reports, monitor the cohesion within the application landscape, and work closely with functional management, IT colleagues, production, and external suppliers.
What makes this role interesting? You work at the intersection of IT, automation, and production. You receive responsibility for an environment where stability counts, but also space to standardize, automate, and implement structural improvements.
Your base is Boxtel, but your field of work is broader. You support multiple Vion locations and are therefore regularly present at other sites. You work in a small and tight-knit team of MES specialists in which knowledge sharing is important. Because production continues largely continuously, we plan and test technical changes carefully. Nothing goes live just like that: continuity comes first.
You combine technical management with analysis and improvement. You do not only resolve incidents, but also look at the cause behind them and what is needed to prevent repetition.
Technical management and maintenance of the MES landscape within Vion.
Monitoring the availability, performance, and stability of MES applications.
Analyzing and resolving technical incidents and structural disruptions.
Executing and supervising updates, patches, releases, and technical changes.
Managing and monitoring connections between MES and, among others, ERP, SCADA, and other production systems.
Analyzing databases, interfaces, logging, and technical error messages.
Preparing technical reports regarding, among other things, availability, performance, incidents, and structural areas for improvement.
Monitoring the technical cohesion within the MES landscape and contributing ideas regarding application and integration architecture.
Collaborating with functional management on changes and improvements within MES.
Supporting production sites with complex technical problems.
Coordinating technical issues with suppliers and other IT specialists.
Testing changes before they go to the production environment.
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation and management procedures.
Contributing ideas regarding standardization, automation, and further professionalization of the MES landscape.
Working from the Boxtel location and, depending on the issue, supporting multiple Vion locations.
Participating in on-call services. During busy periods and large projects, you are also willing to work weekends; weekend deployment can then rise to approximately 50%.
You are technically curious, analytically strong, and maintain an overview when a malfunction requires immediate attention. You work in a structured manner, take ownership, and actively seek collaboration when a solution affects multiple systems, locations, or disciplines.
At Vion, you receive trust and responsibility in a technical environment where your contribution counts visibly. You get the space to not only identify improvements but also to actually realize them. At the same time, you work together with specialists from IT and production and continue to build your knowledge of MES, integrations, architecture, and industrial automation.
Base in Boxtel, with a role that brings you to multiple Vion locations.
A technical substantive role within an international production environment.
Plenty of room for own initiative, standardization, and technical improvements.
Collaboration with specialists within IT, functional management, production, and external suppliers.
Opportunities to further develop yourself and grow within Vion.
Flexible working, with collaboration in the office where that adds value for the team and the work.
Excellent secondary employment benefits.
Do you want to use your technical knowledge in an environment where IT and production meet every day? And do you get energy from solving complex malfunctions and from making systems structurally better?
Then we would like to meet you. Apply for the position of Technical Application Manager MES at Vion Food Group.
