Are you that smart thinker with a sense for both technology and commerce? As an Electrical Engineering Planning Coordinator, you translate client wishes into a realistic and technically substantiated proposal. Whether it is a request with a program of requirements, an included specification, or a blank request: you develop the plan that fits the project and the client. In doing so, you safeguard technical quality, can suggest smart alternatives, and know how to offer the right prices based on realistic calculations. Your plans make the difference - for clients, end users, and colleagues. You do all of this within a professional, close-knit, and loyal company where we are there for each other.
Upon a new request, our Head of Planning coordinates with the Commercial Manager to assess the feasibility of the request. Sometimes we already receive a complete design and specification or a program of requirements (PoR) with the request, upon which we can base our plan. In other cases, nothing is fixed yet and we get the chance to develop a complete, well-thought-out design from scratch that perfectly aligns with the client's wishes. Depending on what has been provided, you dive into the documentation. As an Electrical Engineering Planning Coordinator, you engage in conversation with the client regarding any potential improvements to existing designs. In the case of a program of requirements or if no design yet exists, our BIM Modelers create models suitable for the architectural design.
As an Electrical Engineering Planning Coordinator, you are the connecting factor between technology, commerce, and execution. You coordinate with the estimator, who ensures a realistic cost estimate. You gather additional information and ask the right questions to the client. Once everything is clear, you check the calculation and, together with the estimator, make a smart selection of suppliers - fitting both the design and the technical choices.
Additionally, you think along about alternatives that are more sustainable, smarter, or more cost-efficient. You brainstorm about this with colleagues, modelers, and clients. You ensure that suitable alternatives are integrated logically, efficiently, and in a future-proof manner. You maintain the overview and switch to the right people at the right moment.
Is the design approved? Then you provide direction to the quote based on the realistic calculation. In this, you are ultimately responsible for the pricing offered to the client. Sometimes you work on plans that are realized immediately, and sometimes on projects where execution only takes place years from now - whereby you base the pricing on current costs and future indexation. The quote is finalized by the executive secretary, after which you perform a final check. Is the client in agreement with the quote? Then the order confirmation is drawn up and you check the client's contract documents where necessary.
What makes this role so attractive? Colleague Dick summarizes it beautifully: "You constantly switch between technology and commerce. You get the space to think along, come up with smart solutions, and truly add value. Sometimes by suggesting alternatives that save costs, sometimes by thinking along about technical installations that the client had not yet considered themselves. And whether it concerns apartments, large residential construction projects, or utility buildings - your plan lays the foundation. That simply makes this work great."
With us, you don't just work for a company - you work for a family-like company. You feel that in everything. The atmosphere is professional, pleasant, and familiar. "The processes, materials, work clothing, and means of transport are always well-organized. Additionally, we take responsibility, we know each other, and we help each other. Or, as we say ourselves: we are there 'for each other'". You notice this supportive attitude not only in interacting with one another, but also in the work. "Because we are there for each other, we can deliver quality and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere - with room for a healthy dose of humor and conviviality. From day one, you feel at home at Van Dam Groep, thanks in part to the personal attention from both colleagues and management. With us, you can be completely yourself and everything is discussable, from training to private situations. It truly feels like one big family," says colleague Sander.
Moreover, there is a real 'hands-on' culture. You get the freedom here to make mistakes and learn from them. We actively think along with your development and value talent. Or as colleague Sander puts it beautifully: "I once started on the construction site as a Technician. Thanks to the growth opportunities, I even had the possibility to become an Estimator and work as an Electrical Engineering Planning Coordinator. In short: much is possible within our company."
For one another!
You possess a healthy dose of positive energy and derive pleasure from collaborating, humor, and helping each other.
You are accessible, down-to-earth, and act representatively towards colleagues and customers.
You think in solutions, have an eye for alternatives, and know how to inform customers clearly and professionally.
You are tactful and persuasive, particularly in substantiating and explaining pricing.
You work accurately, think ahead, and can assess risks well and make them manageable.
You communicate clearly, are strong in processes, and maintain an overview effortlessly.
You combine a practical attitude with the ability to think conceptually.
You possess technical insight in the field of electrical engineering, have an affinity with civil engineering, and preferably knowledge of mechanical engineering.
You have experience with Microsoft Office; knowledge of 4PS, Dialux, and Intellec is a plus - we are happy to teach you how to work with these.
