Team lead Supply Chain Planning

As Team Lead Supply Chain Planning, you play a central role in optimizing our supply chain. Together with your team, you ensure that inventories at our terminals remain at the agreed level, while you continuously steer towards optimizing the total value chain margin and the efficient utilization of our logistical capacity.

You lead an international team of six Supply Chain Planners, four of whom are in the Netherlands and two in Germany. In your role, you combine daily operational decision-making with coaching and developing your team and the continuous improvement of processes. In doing so, you work intensively with colleagues within Supply Chain Planning and Execution, Trade, Sales, and Process, Data & Technology. You also maintain daily contact with terminals, external inventory partners, and logistics service providers.

In this dynamic environment, commercial, logistical, and operational interests converge. You maintain the overview, set priorities, and ensure that your team arrives at well-founded decisions quickly. At the same time, you stimulate collaboration across teams and disciplines and work towards an increasingly effective and future-proof supply chain.

• Directing daily supply chain planning and optimization based on inventory, demand, production, logistical capacity, terminal restrictions, market developments, and margins;

• Leading daily optimization meetings and ensuring clear priorities and decision-making;

• Optimizing logistical movements to realize inventory targets, improve margins, and optimally utilize available transport capacity;

• Determining the optimal transport modality, volumes, and supply source for further execution;

• Coordinating and optimizing third-party supplies, stocks, and loans;

• Deciding on hiring or renting additional transport capacity when necessary;

• You review and approve relevant logistical costs, including demurrage;

• Monitoring process and team performance and initiating improvement actions where necessary;

• Together with Process, Data & Technology, you work on the further development of supply chain processes and systems;

• Coaching, developing, and motivating employees and stimulating ownership within the team;

• You conduct performance interviews and appraisals and ensure an effective distribution of tasks and resources;

• Organizing team availability outside regular office hours and participating in the duty schedule.

• A completed education, preferably in a commercial, logistical, or supply chain direction;

• Relevant experience within supply chain planning, logistics, or a similar optimization environment;

• Experience with leading, coaching, and developing a team;

• Experience with ERP and EPRM systems;

• Experience with or affinity for trading, logistics, and sales, preferably within the energy or oil industry;

• Experience working in cross-functional teams and with diverse internal and external stakeholders;

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly translate complex information into concrete decisions;

• Commercial insight and good communication and negotiation skills;

• A stress-resistant and result-oriented attitude, through which you remain effective in a dynamic environment;

• A strong team spirit and the ability to stimulate collaboration between different disciplines;

• You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written (German is a plus).
