Requirements

What we're looking for

  • You have at least 2 years of experience in logistics (rail/barge);

  • You can communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally and are an enthusiastic team player;

  • You enjoy working in multifunctional teams and are available for periodic on-call shifts;

  • You show initiative and act responsibly, independently, and in a structured manner. You think analytically, proactively, and above all, solution-oriented in a fast-changing market environment;

  • You have experience with ERP and EPRM systems and preferably knowledge of JD Edwards (Oracle);

  • You have a hands-on mentality and know how to handle pressure well;

  • As a team player, you are flexible, energetic, and able to perform in a fast-changing environment;

  • You possess a creative and innovative ability to constantly find solutions;

Nice to have

  • You have completed an education in business administration, supply chain, or logistics and preferably have experience in the oil industry;

  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written (German is a plus).

The role

We are looking for a Supply Chain Planner to strengthen our Commercial Terminal Optimization team. In this role, together with your direct colleagues, you will be responsible for the continuous optimization of the supply schedule within our group.

As a Supply Chain Planner, you will ensure a continuous, timely, and cost-efficient supply of the terminals we operate throughout the Netherlands. You are responsible for inventory, supply, and capacity planning, and based on that, you will optimize logistics, inventory targets, and fleet utilization.

As part of an international, entrepreneurial team, you will be in close contact with your colleagues within the entire VAROPreem group, as well as with our trading and logistics partners. You will also be closely involved in the planning and logistics processes.

What you'll do

  • Processing information regarding inventory, demand, production, fleet, terminal constraints, supply, market structure, and margins;

  • Participating in daily optimization meetings;

  • Managing loans, deliveries, and third-party inventories (including CSO) from partners;

  • Making short-term transport decisions (chartering/hiring);

  • Optimizing logistics to achieve inventory targets, improve margins, and maximize our customers' fleet utilization;

  • Determining the optimal mode of transport, volume, and supply source for execution together with our operators and other counterparties.
