The role

Your profile

You ensure adequate communication within your own team and promote consultation and collaboration between your own team, other teams, and the back office.
You monitor the quality and quantity of the corrective and preventive maintenance activities
You prioritize safety and play a key role in health and safety (ARBO) related matters.
Initiates the necessary activities to keep the knowledge and training level of your own team and the entire service team up to date.
Identifies development needs and potential within the team, and works proactively on the development of your own service team.
Monitors quantitative and qualitative staffing levels.
Plans and conducts various interviews regarding performance, appraisals, absenteeism, etc.
Proactively monitors and controls absenteeism and manages based on the Vanderlande absenteeism policy.
Maintains the necessary contacts with the HR manager and arranges support.
You can manage with the English language (basic).
good command of the Dutch language in speech and writing,
Willingness to further develop within your role as Team Leader through training courses

About the company & team

Vanderlande Industries specializes in material handling; one of the divisions is baggage handling. We are internationally known for our transport and baggage systems at large airports and are responsible for a large part of the baggage handling at Schiphol. To guarantee the reliability of our system, we work with a group of approximately 60 service/maintenance technicians in a 5-shift rotation.

The team

Your team consists of approximately 12 Service and Maintenance technicians. You are the point of contact for your employees and ensure that their capabilities are fully utilized. You see opportunities to improve in the areas of cost control, collaboration, and operations, and you seize them.

You are reliable and stable during incident and crisis management and meticulously follow escalation models.

The Team Leader is the managerial pivot of the service team. You are technically all-round trained (MBO level 4 towards Electrotechnics, Control Technology, or Mechatronics) and operate as the person ultimately responsible for the daily corrective and preventive maintenance to be performed. In the 24/7 operation, you are the point of contact on behalf of Vanderlande for the client (Amsterdam Airport Schiphol), whereby you consider achieving transparent communication and meeting agreements as the highest priority. The Team Leader reports to the Operations Manager.
