Process Engineer

Within this complex network of processes, the Vanderlande Service Site, based at Team DHL Zaltbommel, is responsible for the maintenance and optimization of an important part of the material handling system for parcels. You will work in a team of Service Technicians and the Maintenance Manager in Zaltbommel. You will work together with the Global Service Desk, Process Engineers, and Operations.

As a Process Engineer, you are responsible for executing process optimizations regarding our (automated) logistics solutions in use at DHL Zaltbommel. Your focus lies on this location, but you will also independently and systematically manage various other locations and draw up plans to meet customer needs.

Together with the customer and colleagues, you measure and report the performance of the customer process. Using system-generated data, you analyze performance, identify improvements, and propose solutions. These can be both technical solutions (such as equipment adjustments or software changes) and operational solutions (such as handling procedures and planning changes). You coordinate the RCA for complex system errors, as well as improvements. This also includes daily operational steering based on KPIs. As part of your work in the field of continuous improvement, you actively identify improvements and adjustments from operations and translate these into customer needs.

If requested, you also support the testing and implementation of improvements. You build a strong network within the Service team and with the customer. You also develop tools such as dashboards and methods to measure system performance.

As a Process Engineer, you are able to act at operational, tactical, and strategic levels. You are able to communicate with service technicians and software experts about technical details and you understand the activities of the operators on site. You also know how to present the benefits of a specific solution in a convincing and constructive manner at management level. You have strong analytical abilities, combined with an entrepreneurial approach where you are responsible for taking initiative and making decisions. You have excellent communication skills and are able to build good relationships with our customers, both in the office and on the shop floor.

• You have a bachelor's degree in, for example: Logistics, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering;

• You have an affinity for working in a technical and logistical environment;

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role;

• Experience with stakeholder management;

• Strong analytical skills and interest in databases and data analytics tooling;

• Good command of English and Dutch;

• Willing to travel to other locations in the Benelux.
