  • A mobility budget where you determine how to use it;

The role

As an M&A Tax Advisor at Van Oers, you take your edge. You do what you are good at: helping entrepreneurs further with sharp tax advice that matters. You look beyond the numbers and respond to what is truly happening with your clients. In this way, you make a direct impact on their business, the local economy, and society.

You stay ahead by translating tax developments into practical solutions. Just do it, with confidence and craftsmanship. At the same time, you get all the space to grow: in knowledge, responsibility, and personal development.

At Van Oers, you work in a people-oriented organization where colleagues look out for one another and where you are given the space to be yourself. Do you want to know what is happening, think ahead, and make a difference together? Come work at Van Oers and become the tax specialist who leads the way.

What you'll do

As an M&A Tax Advisor, you have a unique combination of tax advisory work and due diligence activities. You work on a client portfolio consisting of both large national and international companies. Think of groups with a buy-and-build strategy, PE holdings, and SME+ companies with extensive and sometimes complex structures. You will primarily be involved in advising on the acquisition and sale of holdings, mergers and demergers, and employee participation. Naturally, you also advise these clients on optimizing their tax position and complying with tax laws and regulations. A dynamic field of work in which you also collaborate extensively with Van Oers Audit and Van Oers Corporate Finance.

You can, of course, call upon the tax specialists within Van Oers, but you yourself hold the initial signaling function for several types of tax.

A glimpse into your tasks:

  • You perform tax due diligence investigations and carry out related advisory work, such as assessing acquisition structures and tax-checking transaction documentation. In doing so, you also regularly have contact with both the buying and selling parties and (external) involved advisors;

  • You are a tax sparring partner for colleagues in the context of restructurings and acquisitions.

  • You assess annual accounts for tax aspects and you investigate advisory opportunities within the appropriate client portfolio;

  • You monitor the quality of your colleagues' work in the role of Tax Advisory Associate, Junior Tax Advisor (and Tax Advisor);

  • You offer technical support to less experienced colleagues; collaboration is knowledge sharing.

This is how you give our team an edge

You possess a good dose of decisiveness and work in a result-oriented manner. You are accurate, involved, reliable, and proactive. Additionally, you are analytically strong and are able to perform tax analyses with a helicopter view to identify risks.  You know how to get things done and enjoy working in the dynamic world of M&A. Picking up ad hoc tasks or adjusting your schedule if a deal requires it is no problem for you. Finally, you are highly communicative. You can provide your clients and colleagues with clear and honest explanations regarding complex tax issues.
