As a Platform Engineer, you will work on the foundation upon which our engineering teams develop, test, and deploy their software. You will build and manage modern Kubernetes platforms based on vSphere Supervisor (formerly known as VMware Tanzu) and work intensively with colleagues in France, Germany, and Australia to harmonize standards, tooling, and best practices.

• Designing, building, and managing Kubernetes clusters based on vSphere Supervisor (VKS) formerly known as VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG).
• Performing cluster lifecycle management and multi-cluster governance
• Setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting for platforms and applications
• Integrating security and compliance standards into all platform components
• Troubleshooting complex platform issues and improving operational excellence
• Collaborating with international Thales teams to harmonize platforms and processes
• Actively contributing to innovation and the introduction of new technologies

Platform Engineer - Cloud Services (32-40 hours, Hengelo)

The IT Engineering Support Chapter is part of IS/IT and consists of approximately 45 engineers and consultants, divided into five self-managing squads. The Chapter includes system and software architects, application specialists, and infrastructure specialists.

IT Engineering Support delivers secure, user-friendly, and up-to-date engineering environments with standardized tooling, while providing the best possible support.

For the Cloud Services Team, we are looking for a Platform Engineer to help build, manage, and further professionalize our Kubernetes platforms.

We do not expect you to master everything, but you recognize yourself in several of the points below and want to grow in the rest.

• You have a technical (IT/Engineering) background
• You are customer-oriented, strong in communication, and analytical
• You have perseverance and a structured way of working
• You have excellent command of the English language
• You have experience managing and optimizing platforms or engineering tools
• You have experience with Linux (preferably RHEL) and Windows
• Experience with containers (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) is a plus
• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana is a plus
