Amersfoort | 32-40 hours | € 4,500- € 7,000 gross p/m
Complex systems, critical environments, and problems without ready-made answers. That is your daily reality as a Linux Engineer at Solvinity. You manage infrastructure for organizations that truly cannot afford downtime, such as the Police and the Ministry of Justice and Security. No two days are the same, and that is exactly what you are looking for. You work independently, partly from home, in a team where the atmosphere is good and colleagues are always there for you.
As a Linux Engineer, you take ownership of your work. Incidents and change requests are assigned to you, and you ensure they are resolved. Sometimes alone, sometimes with the help of a colleague. That help is always available, because the team (approximately 15 engineers) enjoys helping one another. But the initiative lies with you. Ninety percent of the infrastructure runs on Linux. The environments are complex, interconnected, and require a lot of investigation.
Documentation exists, but it is not always up-to-date. You find the information yourself, make do with the tools at hand, and call in a colleague if necessary. That help is always there.
This is what you will do daily:
Troubleshooting and resolving incidents in Linux environments
Working with Docker: from image development to deployment and troubleshooting of containers.
Working with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes
Coordinating with technically proficient customers via telephone, email, or Teams
Participating in the on-call service: once every eight weeks, for one week, to be resolved fully remote
You are someone who takes action. You don't wait for someone to tell you what to do, but you get to work yourself. Can't figure it out? Then you raise the alarm. Ownership and a sense of responsibility: that is what sets you apart.
You ask questions, speak your mind, and are curious. You don't need to know everything, but you do know when you need to research something. Your customers are technically proficient, so you communicate at their level.
You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking, through education or work experience. You speak and write good Dutch. This is a requirement for our clients.
