Finance Automation Specialist

As a Finance Automation Specialist, you play a key role in this.

You reduce recurring operational bottlenecks and improvement questions to their core and translate them into scalable, controlled solutions. From analysis and functional design to testing, implementation, and adoption: you maintain oversight, bring the right parties together, and ensure that improvements are sustainably anchored in daily operations.

You work at the intersection of accounting, process improvement, and technology. In doing so, you are the central point of contact for finance workflow solutions and coordinate incidents, change requests, access and configuration issues, and further development. You interface daily with Finance Operations, Financial Control, IT, security, external service partners, and vendors—especially when speed and continuity are crucial during the financial close.

Specifically, you will be involved in:

• Automation portfolio and roadmap: identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for automation and process improvement based on business value, control impact, feasibility, and dependencies;
• Analysis and solution design: translate operational problems, user queries, and control requirements into clear process designs, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans;
• Delivery and implementation: coordinate design, testing, deployment, and user adoption and ensure that changes are demonstrably, controlled, and sustainably embedded;
• Operational ownership: coordinate incidents, user queries, access requests, configuration changes, and periodic maintenance of finance workflow solutions, including escalation and follow-up;
• Close and workflow optimization: improve accounting tasks, journal workflows, reconciliations, planning, ownership, deadlines, and monitoring for a reliable and efficient financial close;
• Control and audit readiness: ensure clear ownership, traceability, evidence, and appropriate access control within automated processes and system-supported workflows;
• Stakeholder and vendor management: clearly align priorities, solutions, risks, and decisions with Finance, IT, security, service partners, and external vendors.
