HSE / Safety Internship

Do you want to contribute directly to a safe and healthy working environment within a technical production organization during your internship? At NX Filtration, you will get the chance to critically examine our current Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) and investigate to what extent it still aligns with daily practice.

Our organization, activities, and processes are continuously evolving. This means that occupational risks can also change. During this internship, you will therefore carry out an independent review of the existing RI&E and the associated Plan of Approach.

You will not be staying behind your desk during this process. You will go onto the shop floor, perform safety rounds, speak with employees and managers, and analyze, among other things, incidents, near misses, hazard reports, workplace inspections, and other available safety information.

You will investigate various working environments within NX Filtration, including production, logistics, maintenance & facilities, laboratory/QC, and office.

The central question during your internship is:

"To what extent does the current RI&E of NX Filtration align with the actual risks within the organization, and which improvement measures have the highest priority?"

NX Filtration produces membrane filters used worldwide to filter the smallest contaminants from water. Think of contaminants such as nanoplastics, organic substances, dyes, pharmaceutical residues, bacteria, and viruses. This has resulted in new and simple processes for water treatment, wastewater reuse, and drinking water production. NX Filtration's motto is "clean and affordable water for everyone". In 2024, an entirely new, highly modern factory in Hengelo was commissioned.

• You are pursuing a relevant HBO (Higher Professional Education) degree, for example: Integral Safety Science, Environmental Science, Technical Business Administration, or a comparable technical or safety-related degree.

• You have an interest in HSE, occupational safety, production processes, and continuous improvement.

• You work analytically, carefully, and in a structured manner.

• You have the courage to interview employees and managers at various levels.

• You can objectively record observations and translate them into concrete and actionable improvement proposals.

• You have a practical mindset and enjoy working both independently and in collaboration with different departments.

• You have a good command of the Dutch language and preferably also the English language.

An impactful internship in the field of HSE and occupational safety, with an internship allowance of €500.00 (based on 40 hours). And because working healthily is also important, fresh fruit is ready for you every Monday and Wednesday.
