Allround Cattle Research Facility Worker

At the research facilities in the Netherlands (in Sint Anthonis), research is conducted into pig and cattle feed. Work here is done in 2 teams: the cattle team and the pig team. For the dairy facility, we are looking for you!

• Caring for the dairy cattle (including milking) and the calves.
• Responsible for monitoring the welfare of the animals.
• Feeding the animals.
• Forage harvesting and silage management.
• Maintenance of the yard and minor maintenance on machines.
• All other occurring daily activities on a cattle farm.

The Ruminant team consists of approx. 12 animal caregivers/biotechnicians. For this team, we are looking for an allround dairy worker.

As 1 of the allround dairy farm workers, you are the central pivot within our cattle facility. You support a wide range of activities, from caring for the livestock to maintaining the yard, minor maintenance on machines, and of course milking the cows. You are flexibly deployable and, together with your colleagues, ensure optimal business operations. You work closely with the other laboratory animal caregivers and the research assistants.

You are flexibly deployable and, together with your colleagues, ensure optimal business operations. You work closely with the other laboratory animal caregivers and the research assistants.

It is important that you can collaborate well. You are open and honest, practically minded, and take initiative. You work accurately, structured, and tidily. You dare to ask questions and are able to perform physically heavy work such as milking the livestock. For you, quality comes before quantity. Furthermore, you possess:

• At least VMBO work and thinking level.
• Preferably, you have an agricultural background.
• You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience; more experience is a plus. Did you grow up on a farm and always help out there? Then that also counts as experience.
• You can work both independently and as part of a team.
• You are flexibly deployable and willing to work varying shifts.
• You are motivated and have a practical attitude.
• You are willing to participate in weekend rosters.
• You live within commuting distance of St. Anthonis.
