MLO Microbiology Internship

Dive into the world of microbiology and contribute to the safety of our daily food. During this MLO internship, you will get the chance to apply your knowledge directly in a professional laboratory, where you will work with food products and modern analytical techniques. You will participate fully in the team, develop practical skills, and discover how your work contributes to quality and food safety.

During your internship, you will participate fully in our microbiological laboratory. You will learn how we check the quality and safety of various food products on a daily basis. Think, for example, of chocolate, cheese, meat, and fish. Naturally, there is also room to work on your school assignment.

You will, among other things:

• Performing microbiological analyses such as:

  • Microbial count determinations

  • Detection of pathogens (Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus)

  • Yeast and mold analyses

• Working with modern techniques such as PCR

• Processing results in our LIMS system

• An educational and practical internship in a modern microbiological laboratory

• Working in a friendly and involved team

• Guidance by experienced laboratory specialists

• A workplace in Woerden, easily accessible by public transport

• An internship period starting from 4 months (start date in consultation)

• You are following an MLO education

• You are interested in food safety

• You work accurately and are eager to learn

All analyses are performed according to strict ISO 17025 standards.
