Road Designer

• You have a completed mbo or hbo degree in Civil Engineering.
• You have relevant work experience in infrastructural projects as a road designer at a (medium) sized contractor or engineering firm and knowledge of standards and guidelines.
• You can work with application software such as modeling software Civil3D and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• You have experience with interface management and systems engineering.
• You have the flexibility to travel throughout the Netherlands to work at the various (project) locations.

How can you make a difference?
As a road designer, you make a difference by turning your passion for infrastructural projects into high-quality 3D models and detailed designs, while continuously growing and taking on challenges in your field, so as to make valuable contributions to projects and the road infra cluster within the design department of Boskalis Nederland.

As a road designer, your heart will beat faster for infrastructural projects such as the Thorbeckeweg - N516 Redevelopment, the HOV-Bus Lane Leiden-Katwijk, and the A2: Het Vonderen-Kerensheide road widening. As part of the project team, you want to work on a design ready for execution. You find it important to continue developing yourself in your field, so that you can continue to make a valuable contribution to projects.

The design department is responsible for the total design expertise during tenders and acquired projects, often with an integral and multidisciplinary character.

• You work on 3D models and develop them to the desired level of detail, feasible for execution. You discuss the completed design with the design team and the execution team and substantiate the choices made.
• You review and test designs and discuss these with the senior road designer/design leader.
• You actively participate in the consultation working group and develop the findings in a small team setting through work sessions.
• You follow market developments in the field of road design and modeling and contribute to knowledge sharing within the cluster.

• Your team: Cluster Weginfra is part of the design department of Boskalis Nederland. In addition to this cluster, the following departments exist: Design Management Department, Construction Department and Technical Installation Department.
• At the design department, approximately 60 employees work.
• Where will you work: As a road designer, you will regularly work at project locations or at our offices in Zwolle and Papendrecht. Working from home is among the possibilities.
• Full-time/part-time: This concerns an appointment for 32 or 40 hours per week.
