Role description:

As a Junior Consultant Railstudies, you will work in a dynamic team focused on challenging issues in rail infrastructure. Together with colleagues, you will work on solutions for the implementation of new systems or changes in track usage. In this role, you are involved from the planning study phase through to realization. In doing so, you investigate various variants, simulate future situations, and develop preferred solutions. Working from the field of rail traffic engineering, you work integrally with colleagues from various disciplines, including track and overhead lines.

Your daily activities are diverse: from designing signal placements and performing safety tests to creating simulations with specialist software. You share the results of your analyses with colleagues and clients, thereby contributing directly to the realization of sustainable and efficient rail solutions.

Role responsibilities:

You are responsible for solving bottlenecks in the rail network resulting from changing usage or new technologies. You work on the design, analysis, and implementation of railway signaling systems, utilizing current techniques such as ERTMS, BIM, and Systems Engineering. You ensure an integral approach through collaboration with various technical disciplines and contribute to safe, future-proof rail solutions.

Examples of projects we have worked on:

• Reconfiguration of yards such as Den Haag, Zwolle, Driebergen-Zeist, and Den Bosch
• Engineering (greenfield) Hanzelijn, Maasvlakte Zuid;
• ERTMS adjustment Zevenaar and Kijfhoek, Betuweroute.
• Various important ERTMS projects including the Zeeuwse Lijn, EKB Kijfhoek-Belgian border, and ENL northern lines.

Additionally, we are now working together with our German colleagues on projects in Germany and will increasingly collaborate internationally with our colleagues in other countries in the future.
