AI offers many opportunities for building services engineering, but also requires a critical eye. During this graduation internship, you will research how AI makes design, modeling, and reporting work smarter and more efficient. You will explore applications for, among other things, processing design data, supporting models, and automating recurring tasks. In doing so, you will develop at least one working prototype and also assess important themes such as reliability, data security, and laws and regulations. Together with advisors and modelers, you will translate your insights into concrete solutions for practice.

Possible research directions, of which you will choose one or two to delve into in consultation:

• Smart modeling: AI-supported or automated modeling of installations in Revit and Inventor, such as generating pipe layouts, placing components, or automatically checking models for clashes and design rules.

• Automatic reporting: the (partial) generation of design reports, specifications, or notes based on calculations, model data, and project documents.

• AI agents in the design process: an assistant that searches through standards and project documentation, answers questions with citations, or independently performs multiple steps in a workflow.

• From data to design: linking calculation software, BIM models, and documentation, so that information no longer needs to be transferred manually.

An internship at Movares is a kickstart to your career, and there are several reasons for that.
