ANIOS Gastroenterology

As an ANIOS in Gastroenterology (MDL), you will be a full member of our team. You will be involved in both ward and outpatient clinic work and will participate in the on-call shifts for Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. You will work closely with fellow doctors and medical specialists from related fields such as surgery, radiology, internal medicine, pathology, and microbiology.

You will get plenty of opportunities to develop your clinical skills and discover if the specialty of Gastroenterology is right for you. Do you have the ambition to specialize further? Then we will actively support you in preparing for an AIOS position.

The department consists of 14 Gastroenterology physicians and 10 physician assistants, including doctors in training to become Gastroenterologists (years 3 and 4).

There is a collegial atmosphere and a strong educational climate. Together with Internal Medicine and the UMC Groningen, we provide the full training to become a Gastroenterologist. Our department is recognized regionally and nationally, with an IBD and Hepatitis center and a referral function for, among others, HPB surgery and large polyps.

Do you have the ambition to grow into an AIOS in Gastroenterology or another specialty? Then we will do our utmost to guide you in that process.

As an ANIOS, you work within a specific medical specialty, where you gain targeted experience. When care requires it, you can also be deployed flexibly within other fields. In this way, you develop both in depth and breadth to become an agile and valuable physician.
