The role

In this role, you focus on strengthening and future-proofing Jumbo's data landscape, addressing both today's priorities and tomorrow's opportunities. An important part of your work is increasing the resilience of our data ecosystem. You enable data producers to continuously improve and develop their models and make them more resistant to future needs, while ensuring that these changes do not have a negative impact on the result-driven agreements of teams. You monitor the balance between technical and functional objectives, with a clear route toward a shared vision.

At the same time, you safeguard the quality and reliability of data. After all, valuable insights can only be obtained from data that is reliable, consistent, and unambiguous. Additionally, you take responsibility for securing data as effectively as possible and managing it cost-efficiently, for example by reducing unnecessary duplication and optimizing the total data footprint.

You create the conditions in which teams can grow and excel. By setting clear frameworks together with your peers and leadership and driving standardization where it adds value, you help teams to focus on what truly matters. You actively reduce repetitive and routine work, so that teams can spend more time on innovation and impact. You facilitate freedom within a clear framework, guiding the process both bottom-up and top-down.

Looking ahead, you play an important role in the further development of the data landscape to support new capabilities such as Agentic AI. At the same time, you strengthen governance by returning ownership to data producers and ensuring clear accountability within the organization.

You guide architectural decision-making together with the broader tech community, helping to create alignment and clarity in a complex environment. Additionally, you proactively identify and initiate new strategic opportunities that move Jumbo forward, whether that means introducing new ways of working, exploring new technologies, or simplifying the current landscape to create more room for innovation.
