Requirements
What we're looking for
At least 5 years of finance & control experience with a completed HBO or WO degree.
A healthy drive, coupled with the courage to improve existing processes.
A ‘what can be automated, must be automated’ mentality.
You know how to set priorities well and meet deadlines.
You love structure, details, and tight administration
You speak and write English well (knowledge of German and/or Spanish is a plus)
Insurance-specific knowledge is not required, but we do award bonus points for it.
The role
Hi, we are InShared: an online insurer that does everything just a little bit differently. Using smart technology, we make insurance simple, fast, and fair. We also have the JaarBalans: our customers never pay too much. And if there is money left over in the claims pot? Then we give it back to our customers.
We once started as the rebel in the insurance world. Now, we are on the threshold of an international breakthrough. Today we have 350 people, soon perhaps 500. To continue growing (internationally), we are looking for entrepreneurial and energetic people who want to keep shaking up insurance together with us. What we need? A Financial Controller who rolls up their sleeves and comes to strengthen our Finance team!
What are you going to do?
As (Senior) Financial Controller, you will ensure that InShared is financially in control, both in daily operations and towards further (international) growth. This role is a fit for an expert and independent professional who derives pleasure from quality, overview, and properly establishing and maintaining the financial foundation.
What you'll do
A large part of your work consists of executing, controlling, and organizing activities within financial control and administration, where accuracy and overview are essential. You are co-responsible for financial reporting and the annual accounts process. You do this together with a team of eight finance colleagues. You do not manage hierarchically, but you do take ownership and ensure that processes continue to run smoothly, even when things become complex.
You work together with internal and external stakeholders, such as the accountant, CFO, and Achmea. In doing so, you are a substantive interlocutor who thinks along, asks questions, and contributes to careful decision-making through expertise.
In addition to regular control activities, you also look ahead. You help further develop the financial domain and prepare it for the future. In doing so, you take into account international growth, changing reporting rules, and topics such as risk & compliance and fiscal aspects. An important spearhead is the smart deployment of automation and AI within financial processes and reports, so that we work more efficiently and have reliable insights available more quickly.
