Financial Controller

• A completed HBO or WO degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Economics, or similar;

• Relevant work experience within Financial Control, accounting, or audit;

• Experience with month-end and year-end closings;

• Knowledge of consolidation and financial reporting;

• Experience with or good knowledge of annual accounts and audits;

• The ability to independently fathom financial and compliance issues;

• Strong analytical skills and a critical eye;

• Good communication skills in Dutch and English.

• A salary between €4,800 and €5,800 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;

• 8% holiday allowance;

• A variable year-end bonus of up to 10% of your annual salary;

CowManager is active in more than 45 countries, with its own entities in, among others, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, and New Zealand. From our headquarters in Harmelen, we are looking for a Financial Controller to ensure that our figures are available in a timely, complete, and reliable manner.

As a Financial Controller, you are responsible for an important part of our financial control cycle. You ensure a proper month-end and year-end closing and consolidate the financial results of our international entities.

You look beyond just the numbers: you analyze deviations, fathom financial issues, and liaise about these with Finance, other departments, and international colleagues.

Additionally, you play an important role in reporting to the MT and in the further rollout of Odoo. You help to design our financial processes to be smarter, more automated, and data-driven.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and executing month-end and year-end closings;

• Consolidating the results of our international entities;

• Providing and monitoring periodic financial reports;

• Preparing management reports and dashboards for the MT;

• Providing and monitoring tax filings and compliance obligations;

• Preparing and guiding the audit and annual accounts together with Grant Thornton;

• Monitoring the quality and reliability of our financial administration;

• Analyzing and explaining balance sheet and profit and loss items and deviations;

• Liaising with other departments regarding financial adjustments and compliance issues;

• Supporting international colleagues with financial issues;

• Identifying and implementing improvements in processes, internal control, and reporting.

What makes this role interesting?

Our international entities are financially managed largely from the Netherlands. As a result, you will deal with different countries and financial issues, while simultaneously being close to the daily operations and the MT.

Additionally, we are in full development. Not every process is completely fixed yet. Do you see that something can be done smarter, better, or more efficiently? Then you will be given the space and responsibility to actually improve it.

We are looking for someone with sufficient experience to take independent responsibility within Financial Control. You don't have to have seen everything already, but you master the basics of the profession well and can handle complex financial issues independently.

At a minimum, you bring:

Experience within an international organization with multiple entities is a plus, as is experience within technology, software, or another fast-growing environment.
