Customs Coördinator

As Customs Coördinator, you ensure that customs processes within the organization run smoothly and efficiently. In doing so, you work together with colleagues from various teams and serve as an important point of contact within the customs team. Together with the team, you monitor compliance with laws and regulations and customs permits such as AEO, bonded warehouse, and AGP/IVV, and you actively contribute ideas on how processes can be organized smarter and better.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Monitoring and maintaining customs permits and compliance processes

• Advising internal departments on customs, trade, and NVWA-related issues

• Managing and checking customs documentation, certificates of origin, import licenses, and declarations

• Identifying changes in laws and regulations and translating these for the organization

• Acting as a point of contact for customs authorities and logistics partners

• Collaborating on the improvement of customs and trade compliance guidelines and processes

• Supporting audits, self-assessments, and improvement trajectories

• Monitoring KPIs and contributing to reporting and process optimization

• Sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues within the organization

• A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in International Business, Fiscal Economics, Fiscal Law, or similar

• At least 5 years of experience within customs, international trade, or trade compliance

• Thorough knowledge of customs legislation and international trade regulations, such as UCC/EU Customs Code and WTO guidelines

• Experience with AEO, bonded warehouse schemes, and compliance issues

• Knowledge of EUDR, Certex, Traces, and regulations within the food sector is a strong plus

• Experience with VGEM procedures, AGRIM, and SKAL is a plus

• Certifications such as MCTA or additional training in the field of customs/compliance are a plus
