Working Student - Finance Knowhow

Our Finance practice group holds a strong position in innovative financing structures, including acquisition finance, project finance, capital markets finance, restructurings, securitisations, lease structures, and other hybrid forms of financing. Our insolvency and restructuring practice also forms an important part of the Finance practice group.
As a Finance Knowhow working student, you will contribute to the knowledge base upon which our lawyers build daily. You will help select, organize, and make relevant knowhow more accessible, and actively follow developments at the intersection of corporate law, securities law, asset law, insolvency law, and financial regulation.

With this working student position, you will get the chance to gain practical experience in the knowhow function of our Finance practice group and get to know the firm in a challenging way. You will work closely with the Knowledge Lawyer and will occasionally assist lawyers within the team. You will be given space to further develop your legal research skills, substantive knowledge, and sense for relevant market developments.

Your duties include, among other things, identifying and bringing attention to relevant case law, literature, and market developments, categorizing and unlocking Banking & Finance knowhow, and supporting research into legal questions. You will also be substantively and organizationally involved in the weekly knowhow lunch of the Finance team. You will get the chance to present legal current affairs, AI applications for practice, new available knowhow sources, or new tools yourself.

• You are in the final phase of your HBO (higher professional education) law degree;
• You have a demonstrable interest in financial law and legal knowledge development;
• You possess strong legal research and writing skills;
• You work accurately and independently;
• You take initiative and are curious and reliable;
• You are open, approachable, and collaborate easily;
• You enjoy presenting legal developments orally;
• You have an interest in and affinity with AI and AI applications within legal practice;
• You are fluent in both Dutch and English;
• You are available for a longer period (minimum 3 months), for approximately 3 days per week.
