As a Senior Consultant, Business Lending, you will make an impact by supporting and leading defined analysis and delivery activities within business lending consulting engagements, translating business needs into practical process, data and technology requirements while building trusted client relationships. You will be a valued member of the Banking & Financial Services (BFS) Consulting team and work collaboratively with our ecosystem of clients, alliances, start-ups and design agencies, and clients.
Cognizant Consulting is the advisory division of Cognizant and a global community of over 5,000 professionals. Together, we help organizations translate complex issues into sustainable change. We combine deep sector knowledge with technology expertise and work for leading organizations. For our team, we are looking for a new colleague who wants to contribute to the future of business services with substance, curiosity, and a practical outlook.
As a Senior Consultant Business Lending, you help banks and other financial institutions set up their lending to be smarter, more manageable, and future-proof. You lead defined analysis and implementation activities, translate business needs into workable solutions for processes, data, and technology, and build sustainable customer relationships. You are part of the BFS Consulting team and work closely with colleagues, clients, and technology partners.
• You take ownership of defined analysis and implementation activities. In doing so, you monitor planning, dependencies, risks, quality, and timely delivery. You perform, among other things, explorations and current-state analyses, design target processes, define requirements, and support testing and implementation preparation.
• You advise clients on SME and business loans, credit facilities, leasing, trade finance, and guarantees. You analyze and improve processes for onboarding, KYC, credit assessment, structuring, approval, documentation, collateral, monitoring, and special handling and collections.
• You translate organizational objectives into clear requirements for processes, data, controls, and technology. You do this within, among other things, lending and credit management, credit workflows, CRM, decision-making, and data platforms. You define requirements for customer and counterparty data, financial data, facilities, limits, collateral, covenants, and risk classifications.
• You contribute to business lending transformations. You translate credit policy and operating model requirements into configurable workflows, user stories, acceptance criteria, integration requirements, and executable process designs. You support implementations from the initial exploration and fit-to-standard analysis through to testing, training, go-live, and adoption.
• You apply your knowledge of the Dutch and European context, including SME and business lending practices and relevant prudential expectations. Additionally, you contribute to proposals, client presentations, reusable solutions, and substantive publications.
At Cognizant, we value flexibility, as far as the work and client agreements allow. For this position, you will typically work two to three days per week on-site at a client or from our office in Amsterdam. Additionally, our wellbeing programs provide support for a healthy work-life balance.
These working arrangements apply on the date of publication and may change depending on the project and the needs of Cognizant and the client. We always make expectations clear in advance and discuss any changes in a timely manner.
• Relevant experience in business lending, business analysis, and/or transformation, where you were responsible for complex analyses and coordination with various stakeholders.
• Experience with end-to-end business analysis and the ability to assess, independent of a specific technology, capabilities, implications for architecture, integrations, controls, and non-functional requirements.
• Knowledge of SME and business credit products and the associated processes, such as onboarding, KYC, credit assessment, structuring, pricing, approval, documentation, collateral, monitoring, covenants, restructuring, and collections.
• Strong advisory, analysis, workshop, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to connect business processes with data requirements.
• Oral and written proficiency in English, supplemented by a relevant bachelor's or master's degree or comparable work experience.
• Practical functional experience with Commercial Banking or Lending.
• The ability to assess fit-to-standard capabilities and translate credit policy into configurable workflows, roles, approvals, data fields, business rules, reporting, and controls.
• Insight into required integrations and data dependencies with core banking systems, CRM, credit bureaus, AML/KYB screening, electronic signature, document management, collateral administration, finance, and reporting.
• The ability to create buy-in in an environment where collaboration and careful decision-making are central. You are willing to travel and combine client-orientation with an analytical and result-oriented approach, with an eye for responsible innovation and quality.
Do you recognize yourself in a large part of this profile, but not in every single point? Then we cordially invite you to apply. We are curious about the experience and skills you bring and the value you can add to our team and our clients from your background.
Cognizant Consulting is more than Cognizant's consulting practice, we're a global community of 5,000+ experts dedicated to helping clients reimagine their business. • Own defined analysis and delivery activities, including plans, dependencies, risks, quality and the timely completion of outputs, conducting discovery, current-state assessment, target-process design, requirements definition, testing support and implementation-readiness activities.
• Advise clients across SME and commercial loans, facilities, leasing, trade finance and guarantees, and assess and improve processes covering onboarding, KYC, credit assessment, structuring, approval, documentation, collateral, monitoring and collections.
• Translate objectives into process, data, control and technology requirements across loan origination and servicing, credit workflow, CRM, decisioning and data platforms, and define data requirements and controls covering counterparty, financial statement, facility, limit, collateral, covenant and risk-rating data.
• Contribute to nCino-enabled business lending transformation by translating lending policies and operating-model requirements into configurable workflows, user stories, acceptance criteria, integration requirements and implementation-ready process designs, and support nCino implementation activities across discovery, fit-to-standard assessment, process harmonisation, configuration validation, data mapping, integration, testing, training, deployment and business adoption.
• Apply Netherlands and EU context, including Dutch SME and corporate banking and European prudential expectations, and contribute to proposals, client presentations, reusable assets and thought leadership.
At Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. • End-to-end IT business analysis skills covering problem framing, elicitation, process modelling, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability, testing and business readiness, with a technology-agnostic ability to assess capabilities, architecture implications, integrations, controls and non-functional requirements.

• Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory, together with a bachelor or master degree in business, finance, economics, technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on functional experience with nCino Commercial Banking or Commercial Lending implementations across SME, mid-market, corporate or institutional lending environments, including capabilities spanning customer onboarding, commercial loan origination, underwriting, credit analysis, document management and portfolio management.

• Understanding of nCino integration and data dependencies across core banking, CRM, credit bureaus, AML/KYB screening, e-signature, document management, collateral, finance and reporting platforms, together with implementation considerations covering data migration, data quality, testing, release readiness, training, change management, operational adoption and post-go-live support.
• Dutch language capability and experience with Dutch or Benelux financial-services organisations, including knowledge of the Dutch supervisory landscape and relevant EU regulation for the subdomain.
• Ability to build alignment in a Dutch consensus-oriented environment through fact-based recommendations and pragmatic delivery, with comfort working in hybrid international teams travelling to client locations in the Netherlands and Benelux, and a client-focused, analytical and outcome-oriented approach committed to responsible innovation and high-quality delivery.
