The role

Your contribution to the construction of a Feadship

As makers of interiors for luxury yachts, De Klerk delivers one masterpiece after another. From engineering and production to complete installation, the result is an interior that matches unique yachts.

As a team leader, you will make an important contribution to this together with your team. You perform high-level craftsmanship using the most modern machines and often with special types of wood. Do you want to make beautiful products that you can truly dedicate time to?

What you bring

We are looking for an experienced all-round furniture maker or an experienced (luxury) interior builder with leadership capabilities. Someone who, in addition to being an all-round furniture maker, is also a technical coach and a go-to person for the team. You know how to motivate people and empower them. In addition to daily activities, you are continuously looking at how the team can work even better and more efficiently. For example: how you can organize the (production) process more optimally. You are accessible, creative, and hands-on. You collaborate well and continue to communicate at all times.

Furthermore:

Do you have experience as a furniture maker or are you experienced in luxury interior construction, allowing you to work independently and ensuring that various (hand) tools and wood types hold no secrets from you;
Are you able to set the right priorities? You distribute the work within the team according to capacity (time and quality).

Our offer

The construction of a superyacht, of course, does not happen in one place. On average, construction takes three years in total; from design through to delivery. De Klerk Binnenbouw (DKB) is a specialist in Dutch interior construction and is responsible for the luxury interiors in a Feadship. DKB's interiors have international allure! The luxury furniture is custom-made in Moordrecht and subsequently installed in the yacht at the finishing shipyard in Aalsmeer or Makkum. The yachts are between 50 and 120 meters, and approximately four to five Feadship yachts are delivered annually.

We offer a gross monthly salary between €2,900 and €4,000 gross per month, depending on the experience you bring;
By good compensation, we mean more than a good salary. Having fun in your work and a good work-life balance are at least as important. DKB manufactures exclusive furniture for luxury yacht building. Piece by piece custom-made, crafted from exclusive materials for the owner of a yacht. As Furniture Making Team Leader, you are, in addition to being an all-round furniture maker, a technical coach and a go-to person for the team. Together with your team, you ensure the realization of the department's goals and results.

To achieve the highest quality level, collaboration is essential. Collaboration with your team, but also with other team leaders in the department. As Furniture Making Team Leader, you are responsible for managing one of our project teams in the Furniture Making department. You lead a department consisting of about 7 furniture makers. In addition, you also perform all the tasks of an all-round furniture maker yourself.

In this position, you will receive a lot of autonomy and responsibility. You ensure that the elements that arrive are processed in the correct manner. Throughout the day, you provide the team with the tools to follow our standards. You challenge them to exceed or improve these. Naturally, within the set time and quality standards.

As a team leader, you ensure that the furniture makers can perform their work well. "Well" means according to (Feadship) quality standards and within planning and budget. Throughout the day, you provide practical advice and coach your team to process the interior elements in the correct way. You truly distinguish yourself when you can motivate your team to think along about improvements in processes, quality, and collaboration.
As Furniture Making Team Leader, you are given the space to bring out the best in yourself and the team. To help you make this challenge a success, we support you with professional education and training. You also work together with team leaders from other departments. Think, for example, of Machining and Spray Painting. Together, you ensure that our furniture makers can install the interiors at the shipyard.
