Strategic Market Research Internship

Eurofins is an international service provider in the field of laboratory testing. With more than 950 laboratories and approximately 65,000 employees in 59 countries, we are the largest scientific testing organization in the world. At Eurofins Food Safety Solutions (FSS) in Deventer, we support companies in the food industry not only with advice on product safety, but also with a wide range of services. These include consultancy, product compliance (such as label checks and legislation), fraud testing, monitoring programs, and support for retailers in the area of quality assurance. We work for large retailers, producers, and other organizations in the (food) industry and help them bring products to market safely, qualitatively, and fully in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Eurofins Food Safety Solutions is looking for an enthusiastic HBO/WO intern for a period of 6 months. For our (international) growth and competitive position, we want to gain better insight into local market prices and the positioning of our services (such as label checks, monitoring, and consultancy) within the various countries in which we operate. You will work on a concrete research project with the goal of developing an international pricing benchmark model. The final result consists of a research report, a practical, shareable benchmark (e.g., in Excel/Power BI), and recommendations for the commercial strategy. Your insights will be used directly in determining pricing strategies and tenders towards customers.

• Conducting international market research into the prices of Eurofins Food Safety Solutions' services.
• Mapping price differences between countries and identifying explanatory factors (e.g., market maturity, competition, regulation)
• Analyzing the positioning of Eurofins relative to local competitors
• Creating a clear pricing benchmark per country/region
• Supporting the development of pricing guidelines and tender strategies
• Translating research results into concrete recommendations for commercial teams and sister labs

In addition to these activities, there is room for further definition of the internship assignment. The internship can be set up as both a working internship or a graduation internship, depending on your studies and interests. You will get the opportunity to make a direct impact on commercial strategies within an international organization. Your permanent location is in the Product Compliance team, where you will be supervised by the manager. However, your tasks span the entire organization, where you will support the various departments as an internal researcher/advisor.

• Work experience in an international organization, within a fast-growing part of Eurofins.
• During this internship, you will develop skills in the areas of data analysis, pricing strategy, international cooperation, and consultancy.
• A (flex) spot in our office in Deventer and a laptop to be able to work from home
• Introduction to the business world and guidance at a substantive and (inter)personal level to support your development as a young professional. You will have weekly meetings with your supervisor.
• An internship allowance of €500 per month and a travel allowance if applicable
• Participating in trainings and team outings for half a year; as an intern, you are part of our team!

We are looking for an intern with experience/knowledge/background in:

• You are an HBO or WO student in the direction of Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, Economics, or similar
• You are analytically strong, enjoy working with data, and have an interest in commercial strategy
• You work independently and have a proactive attitude
• You have good communication skills in English and Dutch
• You are available to work at least 3 days per week at the office in Deventer
