The role

What does your workday look like?
Your workday starts together with the team to review the planning for the day. You ensure that the planned maintenance activities are distributed among the technicians. Afterwards, you receive any external suppliers that you have hired for their specific knowledge and experience.

Should a technical issue or breakdown arise, you are the designated person to get the process running again, together with your team and the production management. As Head of Technical Services, you are responsible for the technical installations and, together with the Production department, you ensure a production process that is as efficient as possible, breakdown-free, but above all, safe.

In addition to coordinating planned maintenance and managing the team during technical breakdowns, you also contribute to various projects, contribute to investment requests, and provide advice on how to further improve our technical installation. The Technical Services team consists of 6 colleagues, a mix of technicians in day shifts and all-round technicians working in shifts.

In short, together with your team, you ensure a safe and breakdown-free working environment!

What you'll do

Your role includes, among other things:

  • You are responsible for making activities fit within the maintenance budget. You maintain a good balance between controlling, preventive, and breakdown activities to achieve the lowest possible breakdown management and meet production targets. To do this, you create a schedule, budget, and/or other relevant reports. You use our maintenance program McMain for this.
  • You have an active role in investments regarding the long-term vision. In this regard, you make investment proposals and provide the necessity and advice while observing the budget.
  • You participate in projects and initiate projects, innovations, and improvement processes.
  • You lead a team of thirteen (breakdown) technicians, who work in both day and shift duties. You conduct performance and appraisal interviews and manage any absenteeism.
  • Naturally, you participate with the team in the on-call roster.
  • You are responsible for hiring external expertise and are aware of the technical and legal requirements that are set. You are also ultimately responsible for the procurement and stock of technical material.
  • You are (co-)responsible for the safety of installations, machines, and people. You ensure the work instructions. All this in collaboration with the Production and HSE departments.
