What we're looking for
Are you ambitious and proactive and do you want to work at the top of the international legal profession? Furthermore, are you in the final stages of your Master of Laws or have you already graduated? Then we are looking for you!
The role
We are always looking for talented trainee solicitors. Flexibility, drive, and a pragmatic attitude are qualities we love to see. Your development is central to us; thanks to our practice group rotation, you will get the chance to be trained broadly and diversely.
Are you (nearly) graduated and do you want to specialize in international transactional and advisory practice? Then a trainee lawyer position with a seat in our Global Financial Markets practice group is for you. Within this practice group, our lawyers work on cross-border transactions, innovative financing structures, and complex regulation. The subgroups within GFM include:
What you'll do
- Banking & Finance – financing of companies, real estate, and projects.
- Project Finance – legal guidance for large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.
- Debt Capital Markets – issuance of bonds and other debt instruments.
- Structured Finance – securitizations and other structured products.
- Financial Regulation – advising on supervisory legislation and compliance.
- Fintech – legal issues surrounding technology and financial innovation.
- Restructuring & Insolvency – restructuring of debts and insolvency proceedings.
During your studies, you have likely taken subjects such as Property Law, Corporate Law, Law of Obligations, Private Law, Financial Law, Insolvency Law, Contract Law, and European Law. These are directly reflected in the practice of GFM. You apply legal theory to complex, international cases and learn how regulation and commercial interests converge in practice.
