Cost Expert

• A completed mbo, hbo, or wo education, for example Building Technology, Built Environment, Construction Management & Engineering or similar;

• At least 7 years of experience as a Cost Expert, Estimator, or in a similar role within the construction or real estate sector;

• Extensive knowledge of construction costs, budgeting methodologies, construction processes, and real estate development;

• Experience with preparing integral cost estimates in various project phases;

• Strong analytical ability and a strategic view on costs, risks, and opportunities;

• Experience with calculation software and relevant cost expertise systems;

• The ability to operate independently while simultaneously collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams;

• Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.

• Salary from € 5,550 to € 7,000 gross per 4 weeks (€ 5,958 to € 7,583 gross per month) based on full-time employment;

• In addition to your salary, you receive a fixed amount for sustainable employability that contributes to staying healthy (2.3% according to cao Bouw & Infra);

• 43 days off according to the Bouw & Infra collective labor agreement. Of these days, 13 are paid out in your individual budget; you can choose to buy these days back;

As a Cost Expert (medior/senior) at Hurks in Eindhoven, you are a subject matter specialist and strategic advisor within our project teams. You are responsible for preparing, reviewing, and monitoring cost estimates and budgets throughout all phases of construction and development projects. In doing so, you look beyond just the numbers; you analyze opportunities, risks, and optimization scenarios and translate these into clear advice for colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.

You work closely with plan development, business office, engineering, and execution, and you play an important role in determining the financial feasibility and executability of projects. Thanks to your experience, you know how to fathom complex issues and you actively steer towards cost-conscious design and construction.

Additionally, you contribute to the further development of the department by sharing knowledge, coaching colleagues, and initiating improvements in processes and working methods.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Preparing cost estimates and budgets in various project phases;

• Analyzing designs and construction methodologies;

• Identifying risks and opportunities within projects;

• Advising project teams;

• Using BIM models to determine quantities;

• Comparing market prices and construction cost developments;

• Collaborating with colleagues in multidisciplinary project teams.
