What we're looking for

  • Do you have a completed Mbo level 4 education
  • Can you work independently full-time in a small team
  • Are you flexible, professional, hospitable, and do you master the Dutch language and the English language? Knowledge of another foreign language is a plus
  • Additionally, you have experience serving international guests, preferably in a hotel

  • Salary up to €2,517 per month. From age 20 and based on 38 hours per week
  • 8% holiday allowance and an annual bonus of one week's salary

Mercure Amsterdam Schiphol Terminal is unique due to the fact that this hotel is located behind customs, in Lounge 3, in the Terminal at Schiphol Airport. Therefore, you need a flight ticket to stay overnight in the hotel. The hotel has 33 guest rooms and has one of the highest occupancy rates in Europe.

What you'll do

What will you be doing?
As a Receptionist, you will take care of receiving guests, checking them in and out, answering the telephone, and processing reservations. During the night, you will work independently and be responsible for the smooth running of the hotel. Our new colleague finds the hustle and bustle of Schiphol combined with working in a unique hotel fantastic. As a Receptionist, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Receiving, checking in, and checking out our guests
  • Operating the telephone switchboard
  • Making and processing reservations
  • Administratively correct closing and starting of the day
  • Various other occurring tasks

What else you need to know:
Because you will be working at Schiphol, you need an airport pass. We will arrange this for you, but to be eligible, you must have been registered continuously with a Dutch municipality for the past eight years. After your application, a security screening follows which takes approximately four weeks. After that, you can get to work behind customs.
