As Team Lead Maintenance Mechanical, you will work within the Maintenance department at our production site in Ter Apelkanaal. The Maintenance department is responsible for the safe maintenance of technical installations, systems, and equipment. Within the department, the Projects & Engineering, Technical Service, and technical warehouse teams work closely together to ensure the technical availability and reliability of our installations.
You will be working at our location in Ter Apelkanaal, where the entire production process takes place: from potatoes to high-quality potato starch and protein applications for customers worldwide. As the largest factory for food ingredients within Avebe, this location offers a dynamic and technically challenging environment.
The technical service consists of work planners, mechanical technicians, electrical technicians, and troubleshooting technicians. In this role, you are responsible for the performance of the mechanical maintenance and work intensively with the Team Lead E&I. Together, you ensure effective management of the maintenance organization. You report to the Maintenance Manager for Ter Apelkanaal and lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately 15 employees.

Your impactAs Team Lead Maintenance Mechanical, you make a difference by providing direction to the execution of maintenance activities and the further professionalization of the maintenance organization. You maintain an overview, set priorities, and ensure that your team can perform optimally.
Your responsibilities include:
Leading the technical service team and promoting good cooperation.
Coordinating maintenance activities, repairs, and the execution of maintenance plans.
Monitoring the safety, quality, planning, and technical reliability of installations.
Solving technical disruptions quickly and effectively and setting the right priorities.
Improving and optimizing maintenance processes and the collective way of working within Avebe.
Providing input for maintenance and replacement investment budgets.
Supporting work planners and technicians with technical expertise and advice.
You work in a technical production environment where collaboration is central. Within Maintenance, you actively seek connection with colleagues from production, work planning, and engineering. Together, you ensure that activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and cost-consciously.
You are visible on the shop floor, support your employees where necessary, and create a work environment in which craftsmanship, ownership, and continuous improvement are encouraged. Additionally, you act as a sparring partner for the Maintenance Manager and are able to take over the management of that field in the absence of the Team Lead E&I.

Affinity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FMECA, lifecycle management, maintenance, and reliability engineering.
Experience with preparing and executing technical activities.
Experience with SAP.
Technical knowledge of maintenance processes within a production environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to connect people.
A proactive, result-oriented, and safety-conscious work attitude.
