Requirements
What we're looking for
HBO+/University level of work and thinking.
At least 10 years of relevant management experience in retail, FMCG, foodservice, or fresh chains.
Experience leading multiple management layers and with consultation at executive level.
Good knowledge of retail processes, production, logistics, and supply chain. Knowledge of meat, meat products, and other fresh chains is a clear advantage.
Experience with organizational development, change processes, and the implementation of new systems or working methods.
The role
Making an impact together with confidence, that is working at Vion.
Over 80 Nettorama supermarkets. Our own fresh departments. And colleagues who practice their craft with pride every single day.
To ensure all those stores run smoothly, strong leaders are needed. People who take responsibility, trust one another, and want to improve together.
As Retail Operations Manager at Vion, you will provide direction to that. You will lead 6 to 8 Regional Managers, help them grow, and ensure that plans actually work on the shop floor.
You will be given the trust to make choices and the space to implement improvements. You will see the result of your work reflected in strong teams, well-organized fresh departments, and satisfied customers.
What makes our retail concept special? In the Nettorama network, Vion colleagues manage our own fresh departments. At artisanal locations, fresh specialists slice, marinate, prepare, and package products in the store. They help customers with personal advice. In addition to meat and meat products, this includes chicken, cheese, and plant-based alternatives, among others. Behind that daily quality lies an entire chain. You will make an important contribution to that.
You will notice trust here because you receive responsibility and can also give that to your Regional Managers. Together, that means we do not point fingers at each other when something does not go well, but rather bring in the right people. You will see impact in better processes, more clarity for teams, and a store operation that customers can rely on.
You will also recognize our core organizational values in that work: Sharp, because we remain sharp on quality and improvement. Connected, because stores, logistics, and supporting teams need each other. And Brave, because we dare to introduce new working methods if they make practice better.
You will work at an international organization with a down-to-earth, pragmatic culture. Colleagues address each other, help each other further, and share what is going well. In this way, you build not only results, but also people.
What you'll do
You are close to the practice, without losing the overview. You listen to what is happening in the stores, choose what needs to be better, and work together with your colleagues to ensure changes continue to work.
You provide direct leadership to 6 to 8 Regional Managers. You provide clear frameworks, trust in their expertise, and help them grow as leaders.
You translate strategy and commercial plans into achievable goals, KPIs, and clear agreements for every region and store.
You manage based on productivity, product availability, service, and personnel deployment. You see where performance lags and bring teams together to improve it.
You make working methods more uniform between stores, without losing sight of what is needed on the work floor.
You work with Commercial, Supply Chain, QA, Purchasing, and Backoffice on solutions for bottlenecks in stores and in the chain.
You guide new store concepts, processes, and retail systems. You ensure that colleagues understand what is changing and how they can work with it.
You bear functional responsibility for systems such as weighing and labeling systems, handheld terminals, and store automation, and coordinate this with ICT and suppliers.
You bring the perspective of stores and colleagues into the management team. Afterwards, you ensure that collective decisions are implemented well.
What do you bring?
You know that results and trust go hand in hand. You dare to provide direction, speak up, and remain approachable. You understand figures, but also know that you only truly progress when people join in.
Analytical and financial insight, with the ability to convert insights into clear choices and actions.
What do we offer you?
You will receive responsibility that goes beyond hitting figures. You will build strong teams and a retail operation that gets better every day. Within the international food chain, you will get the space to take initiative and make a visible difference.
A gross annual salary between € 98,000 and € 120,000 on a full-time basis, depending on your knowledge and experience.
A full-time position with Boxtel as the location and a place in the management team.
Responsibility for 6 to 8 Regional Managers, with room to actively guide their development.
Influence on the way over 80 stores work together and perform.
Space to take initiative, implement improvements, and further develop yourself.
Engaged colleagues, short lines of communication, and collaboration within an international food chain.
Interested?
Does your attention go just as much to the people as to the figures? And do you want to build a strong Vion retail operation together? We would love to meet you. Apply for the position of Retail Operations Manager. Do you have questions first? Feel free to ask them.
