A project stands or falls with good preparation. As a Work Preparer W at Feenstra & Van Goor, you ensure that our technicians can perform their work optimally. You arrange for materials to be available on time, ensure drawings are complete, and make sure execution can proceed without problems.
You are the connecting link between project managers, technicians, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. While work is being done on the installation outside, you ensure that everything is correct behind the scenes. You monitor the planning, maintain an overview of material flows, and ensure that everyone has the right information at the right time.
At Feenstra & Van Goor, you get a lot of freedom to organize your work independently. That freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility. Because we are a compact organization, lines are short, you can switch gears quickly, and you have direct influence on the projects you work on. Our starting point is clear: freedom where possible, responsibility where necessary.
As a Work Preparer W, you work on diverse mechanical engineering projects within residential construction and utilities. You are already involved before execution starts and remain an important point of contact throughout the project for everyone involved in the realization.
On an average workday, you switch between different projects. You check drawings, coordinate delivery times with suppliers, support the project manager, and ensure that technicians have the right materials, information, and tools in a timely manner. Thanks to your preparation, projects proceed efficiently and delays are prevented as much as possible.
Drafting, monitoring, and adjusting project schedules
Sourcing, ordering, and organizing materials, equipment, and capacity
Checking technical drawings and project information for completeness and feasibility
Identifying technical risks, deviations, and extra or reduced work
Supporting project managers, technicians, and other involved colleagues within the project team
Monitoring delivery times and coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and execution
Processing project administration, hour registrations, purchase invoices, and project documentation
Ensuring a smooth handover between preparation and execution
At Feenstra & Van Goor, you will join a down-to-earth and committed organization where colleagues know each other and are there for one another. With approximately 65 colleagues, we are large enough for technically challenging projects within residential construction and utilities, but small enough to remain personal.
Additionally, we are part of the VDK Group. As a result, you benefit from the advantages of a larger organization, while the culture, commitment, and independence of Feenstra & Van Goor are preserved.
A 12-month contract with a view to permanent employment
25 vacation days and 13 ADV days according to the Metal & Technology collective labor agreement
Pension accrual via PMT
Travel allowance in accordance with company policy
Possibility of a summer and winter bonus based on company results
Flexible working hours when the work allows it and the possibility to work from home occasionally
Training and development opportunities via Feenstra & Van Goor and the VDK Academy
Access to additional employee benefits, such as VDKnaken, Alleo, a lease bike scheme, and attractive discounts via Corporate Benefits
Plenty of opportunities to grow towards specialist, project manager, or another position within the organization
A good Work Preparer W thinks ahead, maintains an overview, and feels responsible for the end result. You identify bottlenecks before they become problems and know how to set priorities when multiple projects are running simultaneously.
You don't need to have an answer for everything immediately, but you take ownership, seek solutions, and communicate clearly with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
In addition, you bring:
Minimum MBO 4 or HBO working and thinking level in Mechanical Engineering, Installation Technology, or similar
Experience as a work preparer within installation technology or a similar technical environment
Technical insight into mechanical engineering installations
Experience with planning, organizing, and coordinating activities
An accurate and quality-oriented way of working
Good communication skills
The ability to maintain an overview and set priorities
A proactive and responsible attitude
Feenstra & Van Goor has been a trusted name within installation technology for years. From our team, we realize mechanical engineering installations for projects within residential construction and utilities. We combine craftsmanship with a pragmatic approach and believe in sustainable relationships with both customers and colleagues.
The organization is characterized by short lines, commitment, and a lot of personal responsibility. Colleagues are given the space to take initiative and think along about improvements. In this way, we build beautiful projects together and build the future of our organization.
