The role

What will you be doing as an Accounts Receivable Specialist?

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you are responsible for a smooth and reliable accounts receivable process within TOPdesk. You ensure that invoicing, payments, and outstanding items are processed correctly and timely, but you also play an important role in the financial administration surrounding accounts receivable.

You work in an international environment where accuracy, overview, and collaboration are essential. From Delft, we also handle a portion of the accounts receivable activities for various international TOPdesk offices. This means that you will regularly interact with colleagues from other countries and deal with international processes and stakeholders.

Together with your colleagues, you manage the entire accounts receivable process: from invoicing and payment processing to the follow-up of outstanding items and resolving complex invoicing issues.

Additionally, you are responsible for various accounting-related tasks within AR. You monitor the quality of the financial processing, perform reconciliations, and ensure that connections within the accounts receivable ledger are correct. You also support month-end closings and prepare documentation for financial audits.

With a data-oriented perspective, you analyze payment behavior, order flows, and outstanding items. You identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and make suggestions for improving processes and working methods. In doing so, you play an important role in the further professionalization of accounts receivable management within TOPdesk.

Sterre on her role at TOPdesk:
"I find it valuable that, with a data-oriented perspective, I can discover patterns in order flows and payment behavior. This way, we ensure that we tackle the right cases at the right time."

In this role, you work closely with colleagues from sales, consultancy, legal, etc. Thanks to your diligence, customer and invoicing data are always up-to-date and correct in our systems.

In short: a role in which you combine operational accuracy with analytical insight, accounting knowledge, and process improvement.

Where will you end up?

You will be working at our head office in Delft. TOPdesk is an international software and consultancy company specializing in service management solutions. With more than 800 colleagues in 8 countries, we work every day to make service delivery smarter and more enjoyable for our customers.

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be part of the Dutch accounts receivable team, consisting of seven colleagues. The team works intensively with other departments within the organization and plays an important role in keeping TOPdesk financially healthy.

We work together in a hybrid manner, working an average of three days per week at the office in Delft. This allows us to combine flexibility with short lines of communication and close collaboration within the team.

What you bring

  • You have a completed bachelor's degree and an affinity with finance (for example, through a part-time job, internship, or board position) and speak fluent Dutch; or you speak Dutch at a minimum B2 level and have at least three years of work experience within accounts receivable as described below.
