Lead Engineer in the Netherlands

As Technical Manager / Lead Engineer, you play a key role in the realization of new high-voltage connections that enable the energy transition. You bring together technical expertise, various disciplines, and interests, ensuring that projects are executed safely, reliably, and in a future-proof manner.

In this role, you combine technical leadership with collaboration and are given the space to help build innovative solutions that contribute to a sustainable energy supply for the Netherlands.

At TenneT, we are looking for professionals who contribute to a future-proof electricity grid and who can translate technical complexity into concrete results.

You lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and are involved in projects with great societal impact from the initial planning phase through to completion. Together with project leaders, construction managers, and specialists, you work on smart technical solutions for overhead and underground high-voltage connections.

You monitor technical quality, lead decision-making from a technical perspective, and ensure a good balance between safety, quality, costs, environment, and feasibility. In doing so, you work intensively with colleagues, contractors, governments, engineering firms, and other stakeholders to arrive at the best solution for both the project and the environment.

• A completed HBO (higher professional education) or WO (university) degree in a relevant technical field, such as: electrical engineering, energy technology, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience within the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary (complex) engineering tasks.
• Experience in the functional management of technical teams.
• Knowledge of design and engineering processes.
• Experience in drafting and reviewing technical requirements, designs, and work packages.
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
• In possession of a B driver's license.

• Experience with high-voltage installations (110kV and higher).
• Experience with high-voltage stations, cable connections, or line projects.
• Knowledge of UAV, UAV-GC, and/or SCB.
• Experience with Systems Engineering, BIM, and/or Relatics.
• Certifications such as IPMA or Prince2.

You possess strong planning and organizational skills and know how to effectively structure, coordinate, and prioritize project activities. In doing so, you organize and utilize people, resources, and capacity optimally to realize project objectives. You identify risks and bottlenecks in a timely manner and take appropriate measures to safeguard progress and results.

Additionally, you possess a solid technical foundation. You effectively apply methods, processes, tools, and software within technical design and execution activities. You are also able to implement, evaluate, and, where necessary, optimize technical solutions. Finally, you critically test and assess technical results and make timely adjustments to safeguard quality and project goals.

Therefore, for full-time employment, we offer you:

• A one-year contract with a one-month probationary period and the prospect of a permanent contract, based on 40 hours per week.
• A salary in scale 9: € 4816 to € 9472 per month with 8% holiday allowance and 6% year-end bonus.
• A solid pension via ABP: we pay 70% of your premium.
• 43 vacation days per year.
