The Veg R&D Seed Operations department is looking for a motivated candidate for the position of:

Are you the cultivation specialist and connector who ensures that our trial crops become predictable and valuable? In this role, you combine your passion for cultivation with technical leadership and active participation in the greenhouse. You will supervise the seed production of various brassica species and work together with colleagues on seed productions that form the basis for future varieties. A role in which your knowledge of seed production, eye for quality, and talent for connecting people come together with visible impact on our innovation.

You are the 'owner' of the Jan Schagen Greenhouse and the operational processes within your cultivation area. Throughout the entire cultivation season, you supervise the trial seed cultivation and create the optimal conditions for a healthy crop and high-quality seed production. You report to the Operations Lead within R&D Vegetables.

In this role, you will actively work in the greenhouse yourself, but you will also take the technical lead. You manage a maximum of four employees, monitor progress, and ensure that activities are carried out carefully and according to plan. In doing so, you connect the practice in the greenhouse with the requirements and information needs of R&D and Production & Supply.

Concretely, this means you:

• manages the entire cultivation process, including climate management, irrigation, fertilization, scouting, and crop protection;
• monitors productions accurately, makes timely adjustments, and registers data carefully;
• ensures that cultivation data is reliably available for predictable and valuable future productions;
• provides technical guidance to colleagues and encourages them to strive for maximum quality together;
• participates in CO₂-, breakdown, and weekend shifts, on average once every six weeks.

• You have an eye for detail. You understand that measuring is knowing and that careful registration is the key to a good result.
• You are a strong communicator and possess the talent to successfully bring people with different backgrounds and interests (such as R&D and P&S) together and have them work together.
