What we offer At SWARCO, we believe a new job should offer more than just an attractive salary or an interesting project. We believe the whole picture must be right. That is why we offer you a varied and challenging position, where you can work on cool projects that truly matter. From day one, we provide an extensive onboarding process. Your growth and development are a top priority for us; therefore, you will be given the space to follow both internal and external training and education. What else you receive based on full-time employment:

  • A gross monthly salary between € 4,392 and € 9,540 commensurate with your knowledge and experience;
  • 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days;
  • 8% holiday allowance and variable profit sharing;

  • Electric lease car;
  • Laptop and smartphone to perform your work optimally;
  • An open and professional working atmosphere and pleasant outings organized by our staff association.

The role

“I work from trust. If you know what you are doing, I will give you the space to lead your projects your way.”

You have the technical knowledge to speak with engineers, the experience to lead complex projects effectively, and the commercial insight to ensure the business side is not lost sight of. But do you also get the space to truly do something with it? As a Project Manager at SWARCO, you do. Here, you are not only responsible for planning, budget, and execution, but you also receive the trust to make independent decisions and lead your own projects. From the renovation of a lock to the renewal of a complete bridge control system.

What you'll do

From our location in Echt, you will work on projects within wet infrastructure. Bridges, locks, weirs, and pumping stations whose electrotechnical installations and control systems are being renewed, renovated, or maintained. These are technically challenging projects, where you deal not only with complex installations but also with diverse interests. The client, the environment, the technical possibilities, and the continuity of the infrastructure: it all must come together in a well-thought-out approach. You will take over the daily technical project management from Dave Peelen, who, as Branch Manager, focuses further on the South of the Netherlands. This gives you an independent position, with an experienced manager to whom you report directly. From preparation through to realization, you keep the technical content, the organization, and the financial result together. For new assignments, you will, where possible, contribute to the proposal and the budget. For ongoing projects, you step in, make the work your own, and take the lead. And that requires someone who understands the technology behind the projects. Because when an engineer encounters a technical problem, you can think along. Not because you have to design the solution yourself, but because you understand where the challenge lies, which choices must be made, and what expertise is required for that. You are also a full partner at the table with the client. You know what you are talking about, can explain technical considerations, and ensure that agreements not only sound good on paper but are also feasible in practice.

Within your projects, you lead a team of project leaders, site managers, and work planners. You work closely with the engineering department, the maintenance organization, and the involved subcontractors. For larger contracts, your role can be that of technical manager, where you are responsible for the whole together with a project manager from a partner organization. The technical disciplines may vary per project, but the starting point remains the same: you ensure that the people, the technology, and the execution align.

In addition, you look beyond the delivery of a project. A satisfied client, a team that can function well, and a healthy financial result are, for you, inextricably linked. You not only monitor the agreements made but also recognize opportunities to further expand the collaboration with a client. For example, when additional work or new technical challenges arise during a maintenance contract. You think along about the approach, the feasibility, and the financial consequences. In this way, you contribute not only to successful projects but also to the further development of SWARCO's activities in the South of the Netherlands.

How you'll work

Your base is Echt and you will regularly be found at project locations, primarily in Limburg, Noord-Brabant, and Zeeland. Personal contact with your team and the client is important in this role. At the same time, there is room for flexibility when your private situation requires it. As long as you are there at the moments when the project needs your presence.

Who we are looking for

A technically complex project, various interests, and a team of specialists who are counting on you. That is exactly the environment in which you like to work. You are independent and entrepreneurial. You do not wait for someone to tell you what the next step should be, but you determine it yourself and can explain why. You like to invest in the relationship with your client and give your team both space and clarity. You listen, ask follow-up questions, want to understand where things are stalling, and dare to make decisions. In doing so, you have an eye for what is technically necessary, practically feasible, and financially responsible. Furthermore:
