The role

As a functional application coordinator, you ensure that Epic aligns well with the daily practice of healthcare providers and patients. Your activities consist of a combination of administration, optimizations, and projects.

What you'll do

Administration

  • Managing and maintaining one or more Epic applications and associated work processes.

  • Supporting healthcare providers with questions, incidents, and change requests.

  • Performing acceptance tests and contributing to software updates and releases.

  • Monitoring the quality, continuity, and manageability of the configuration.

  • Working according to the IT processes agreed upon within St Jansdal.

Optimizations

  • Analyzing work processes and translating user needs into suitable solutions within Epic.

  • Identifying, developing, building, testing, implementing, and evaluating improvements.

  • Advising on the configuration of processes and making the best possible use of standard Epic functionality.

  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, fellow application coordinators, information managers, ICT, and Epic consultants.

  • Contributing to continuous process improvement and further digitalization of healthcare.

Projects

  • Participating in projects in which new or modified functionality is realized in Epic.

  • Translating functional requirements and healthcare processes into concrete system configurations and building, configuring, and testing these solutions.

  • Coordinating with information managers, project leaders, healthcare professionals, suppliers, and other involved colleagues regarding scope, choices, planning, and dependencies.

  • Preparing and guiding the implementation of new functionality.

  • Contributing to the training and guidance of end users, where necessary together with other stakeholders, so that they can properly apply the new or modified functionality in their daily work.

Through this combination, you will gain a broad insight into the hospital's processes and make a direct contribution to the quality, safety, and future-proofing of healthcare.

What you bring

You have an analytical mindset, are curious, and enjoy delving into complex information requests. You can switch easily between users, processes, and technology, work in a structured manner, and get energy from solving problems.

In addition, you possess:

  • a relevant higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) level education or demonstrably comparable level of work and thinking;

  • affinity with healthcare processes, information systems, and digital support in healthcare;

  • an analytical and conceptual way of thinking;

  • the ability to translate user needs into workable solutions;

  • good communication and advisory skills;

  • good command of the English language.

Experience and/or certification with Epic, functional administration, or hospital processes is a plus. We cordially invite both those at the beginning of their careers as well as experienced application specialists and healthcare professionals with an affinity for ICT to apply.

About St Jansdal

In their own words

About the company & team

You will be working in the Stepic team (Epic team of St Jansdal). Together with the Business Intelligence team, Stepic is part of the Informatisering department within the IAMT cluster (Informatisering, Automatisering & Medische Technologie), where approximately 100 colleagues work.

Within Stepic, we are looking for several new colleagues. Depending on your knowledge, experience, and the needs within the team, we will determine together which Epic domain you will be deployed in. We primarily expect deployment within Ambulatory, Orders, Cadence, and ClinDoc. Deployment in adjacent areas of focus, such as MyChart, ASAP, CareEveryWhere, DBC, U&S, and functionality for external healthcare providers, may also be part of the role.

This will provide you with a clear foundation within one or more domains, with room to further specialize and, where necessary, contribute more broadly to the administration and development of Epic.

St Jansdal is the beating heart of healthcare in the region. From our hospitals in Harderwijk and Lelystad and our outpatient clinics, we provide care to approximately 260,000 people. We do this with colleagues who feel connected to their work and to St Jansdal. You can see this reflected in the many colleagues who celebrate their 12.5- or even 25-year anniversaries here. Not because they stayed stuck, but because they belong here. And you will notice it: we pull together and look out for one another.

Our locations are situated in the Veluwe and in Flevoland, with beaches, nature, and cities nearby. An environment where you can not only work pleasantly but also fully enjoy everything there is to experience outside of work.
