What we're looking for

You have completed commercial training or a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a comparable field of study.
Ideally, you have gained initial professional experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or in an operational interface function – including through internships or working student positions.
You communicate confidently and in a service-oriented manner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
You think analytically, are solution-oriented, and maintain an overview even when handling multiple parallel tasks.
You bring a high affinity for numbers as well as confident use of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Very good German skills as well as good written and spoken English skills round off your profile.

What you'll do

As a Category Buying Assistant , you will support our procurement team in day-to-day operations and ensure smooth processes regarding supplier, item, and price data. You will take responsibility for data quality and administrative processes in supplier management, handle operational issues, and act as an important interface between purchasing and internal departments as well as suppliers. With your structured way of working, you will create transparency, solve operational issues efficiently, and enable our strategic buyers to focus on negotiations and the further development of our supplier relationships.

Ensuring the quality of item, price, supplier, and condition data in close coordination with suppliers and strategic buyers.
Acting as an escalation point for complaints, particularly regarding price discrepancies and operational delivery disruptions.
Creation and preparation of evaluations, analyses, and decision-making bases to support strategic purchasing decisions.
Supporting strategic buyers in the preparation and follow-up of contract and price negotiations, including data preparation and documentation.
Close cooperation and active interface coordination with internal stakeholders such as Demand & Supply, Finance, Quality Assurance, Category Management, and Retail Media.
