Chief Resident Gynecology

Gycon is a partnership operating within two hospitals: Medisch Spectrum Twente (MST) and Ziekenhuisgroep Twente (ZGT). The department consists of 27 gynecologists with a wide range of specializations, experience, and personalities. Work is carried out in differentiation groups, and there is much attention paid to collaboration and innovation.

The department is actively midwifery-focused at the Almelo and Enschede locations, with 24/7 secondary midwifery and approximately 4,000 deliveries per year. There is a regional VSV (Midwifery Care Network) actively working on the further professionalization of integrated midwifery. Additionally, the Enschede location is a center for antenatal diagnostics in collaboration with UMC Nijmegen.

Reproductive medicine is regionally concentrated in an independent treatment center in Hengelo, including its own IVF laboratory. The Almelo, Hengelo, and Enschede locations feature very well-equipped endoscopic ORs, including the Da Vinci robot (Almelo and Enschede). Within benign gynecology, level 2-4 laparoscopic surgery is performed.
MST possesses an endometriosis center and ZGT possesses a multidisciplinary pelvic floor center.

Oncological care is offered from MST Enschede in collaboration with UMC Groningen. Additionally, the department participates in various training programs, including those for medical students, tropical medicine doctors, gynecologists, and master midwives.

You will primarily work at the Medisch Spectrum Twente (Enschede) location, with the possibility of occasionally switching locations.

As a Chief Resident, you will make a broad contribution to care within gynecology and obstetrics. You will:

• Are broadly deployable within both gynecology and obstetrics, preferably with a special interest in obstetrics

• Provide patient care within a top-clinical setting

• Work closely with fellow gynecologists within Gycon

• Make an active contribution to the training of residents, medical students, midwives, and nurses

• Will receive space for personal development and (further) differentiation within a field of interest.

• Is broadly deployable within gynecology and obstetrics 

• Possesses good communication skills 

• Considers professionalism and collegiality to be a matter of course 

• Would like to contribute to the training and development of colleagues in training 

• Has an interest in personal growth and (further) differentiation within a field of interest 

• An appointment as Chief Resident for a duration of one year 

• A position of 0.8 fte - 1.0 fte
