Requirements
What we're looking for
- At least five years of demonstrable experience with C# and modern .NET development, including API development.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, App Service, and API Management.
- Experience with asynchronous and event-driven integrations, for example with Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hubs.
- Knowledge of domain-driven design, SOLID, and clean architecture.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code with Bicep.
- Insight into API security, authentication, authorization, and secure management of access rights.
- Experience with automated testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production.
- The ability to work independently, explain technical choices clearly, and collaborate in international teams.
The role
Build the connections that organizations can rely on.
An order that is processed automatically. Applications that exchange data securely. Business processes that keep running when a system temporarily fails. As an Azure Integration Developer at Macaw, you make this possible with C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure.
You combine software development with consultancy. You investigate the client's needs, contribute to the architecture, and build integrations that are secure, maintainable, and reliable. You remain involved from the initial design to deployment, monitoring, and further improvement.
What you'll do
- Understanding the client's needs. You discuss with product owners, architects, and application managers which systems need to work together. You make agreements regarding data exchange, security, speed, and availability, and translate these into concrete development tasks.
- Designing and building integrations. You develop APIs and connections using C#/.NET, Azure Functions, App Service, and API Management. For asynchronous processing, you work with services such as Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hubs.
- Building in reliability. You ensure the solution handles duplicate messages, temporary outages, and unreachable systems effectively. You set up error handling and make it possible to investigate and reprocess failed messages.
- Delivering secure solutions. You work with, among others, Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, and Key Vault, and ensure that applications only gain access to what they need.
- Automating testing and releases. You write automated tests and make infrastructure and deployments repeatable with Bicep and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Monitoring and improving production. Using Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and OpenTelemetry, you investigate error messages, slow processing, and other bottlenecks. You improve the solution based on what you observe in practice.
- Involving the client and your team. You demonstrate functionality, discuss technical choices, provide code reviews, and ensure clear documentation and management agreements.
Your workday varies per project phase. One day you discuss a new connection with the client and work out the design. The other day you build message processing, test an error scenario, or investigate together with a colleague why an integration is responding slower than expected.
You are a developer who looks beyond the code.
You want to understand what the client needs and dare to ask follow-up questions. You make technical trade-offs understandable, take responsibility for your solutions, and actively seek collaboration.
Nice to have
Experience with container solutions, private Azure networks, or various Azure data services is a plus. The same applies to relevant Microsoft Azure, DevOps, or security certifications. Your practical experience and technical insight carry more weight than certificates.
Why us?
Technical depth, variety, and collaborating on solutions that matter.
At Macaw, you work on integration challenges for clients, from modernizing existing connections to developing new APIs and event-driven solutions. You combine building yourself with advising and see how your choices impact the daily processes of an organization.
You work together with engineers, consultants, architects, and security specialists. Sharing knowledge, giving each other feedback, and developing reusable solutions are part of the job. In this way, you help the client move forward and contribute to the quality of the entire team.
Curious about our work? For DroneStars, Macaw realized an Azure environment for secure drone control via private 4G. In this, security, monitoring, and automated deployments came together. An example of how we translate technology into a solution that is also manageable in practice.
