What we're looking for

At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Application Engineer
Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and configuration management
Experience with, for example, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or GitHub Actions
Scripting knowledge in, for example, Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Experience with monitoring and observability solutions
Knowledge of security, identity management, and high-availability production environments
Good command of English; Dutch is a plus
You live in the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe and are willing to work on assignments in the Netherlands

Experience within a bank, asset manager, or other regulated environment is a strong plus. Experience with platforms for Finance, Credit Risk, or Regulatory Reporting is very welcome. Knowledge of Murex, SWIFT, Payments, SRE principles, application support, or Azure within financial services gives you a clear advantage

The role

Ensure mission-critical financial platforms always continue to perform

Within banking and asset management, applications for Finance, Credit Risk, Payments, and Regulatory Reporting must be continuously available, secure, and auditable. An outage can have direct consequences for transactions, risk calculations, financial reports, and customers.

As an Azure SRE / DevOps Engineer at Varrlyn, you build and manage reliable platforms for financial institutions. You automate deployments, improve monitoring, and help applications migrate securely to modern cloud environments.

In doing so, you look beyond infrastructure alone. You understand that your technology supports essential financial and risk processes that leave little room for downtime or errors.

What you'll do

Manage and improve Azure platforms and mission-critical financial applications
Support platforms for Finance, Credit Risk, Payments, and Regulatory Reporting
Design, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Implement and further professionalize Infrastructure as Code
Set up monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability
Monitor availability, performance, and scalability
Support cloud migrations and application implementations
Analyze incidents and implement structural improvements
Translate security, compliance, and audit requirements into technical measures
Collaborate with developers, application support, security, Finance, and Risk
Automate operational processes and reduce manual tasks
Contribute to platforms for trading, treasury, Credit Risk, Payments, or asset management
